We're an independent, family-owned, and award-winning PT clinic where your goal is our goal.
We provide caring, innovative treatment for pain relief and management without opioids or surgery, recovery from injuries & procedures, event training, and more. If you have noticed that healthcare has become more like a business of numbers, you will understand why North Carolina Center for Physical Therapy was founded. Deciding that you can run a successful practice with a focus on QUALITY care instead of QUANTITY, we opened our doors in 2010. NC Center for Physical Therapy is an independent, family-owned, and award-winning physical therapy clinic based in Durham, North Carolina. We help our patients reduce and manage pain without opioids or surgery, recover from an injury or a procedure, train for an event, or develop the strength to do something big (like fly in a hot air balloon!). Our dedicated staff prioritize quality of care over quantity of care by giving patients the time, innovative therapies, and personalized support they need. We provide a wide variety of solutions including skilled intervention for injury management and rehab, wellness programs to continue exercises and activity after treatment, dry needling, and telehealth physical therapy. We also help treat a diverse range of conditions, including Cervicalgia, Strains, Parkinson’s, Spinal Stenosis, Muscle Sprains, Back, Lumbar-Low Back, Degenerative Disc Disease, Gait and Balance Training, Dislocations, Thoracic-Midback, Sciatica, Fibromyalgia, Plantar Fascitis, Fall Prevention Education, Concussion Management, Sports Injury Recovery, Vertigo, and Ankle & Rheumatoid Arthritis. Since 2010, we’ve guided thousands of patients back to living their lives pain-free through our caring, creative approach to physical therapy. Led by Misty Pidgeon, an accomplished PT with more than 3 decades of experience, we’re known for helping patients get results that they haven’t been able to reach with chain PT practices and medical providers. We’re a local PT clinic that thinks outside the box, hires the highest quality, most knowledgeable PTs available, and empowers them to provide the treatment patients need to get better or make big things happen. To learn more or set a free consultation with one of our PTs, visit NCCenterforPT.com. We are accepting new patients and can usually get you scheduled within a week. We serve the Research Triangle Park (RTP), Durham, Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Chapel Hill, and Carrboro.

5 STAR RATING!!
This practice is fantastic. Wonderful in every way. Abby is knowledgeable, patient, and realistic in her treatment plans. These PTs have helped me rehab a knee after kneecap dislocation and a lower back after a disc issue and the never-ending demands of picking up young children. I chose to go to this practice over other larger groups in the area because they are so patient-centered and laid back. I wish that we had more local, independent healthcare practices like this one.
Also, if you do not want to ring the bell and make a big deal out of your “graduation” they will let you slip out quietly with very little fanfare :)

Have you noticed that healthcare has become more like a business of numbers?
North Carolina Center For Physical Therapy is a privately-owned clinic opened in 2010 specifically to focus on personalized one on one therapy. We see all types of orthopedic, athletic, post-operative, gait and balance, women’s health, and some neurological diagnoses. Our goal here is to get all of our patients back to functioning at their maximum abilities.
Our therapists take time to listen to you because that’s what it takes to solve the complex puzzle of your muscles, joints, nerves, and tendons that have become interwoven and off-balance in a way that is causing you pain that you just can’t get rid of.
Misty Pidgeon, PT/CEO, graduated from the University of Vermont in May 1991 and started treating patients at Duke Medical Center. She quickly moved on to become a Clinical Director at Treyburn Rehab, worked at Durham Regional Home Health then 8 years at Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill.
If you have noticed, like Misty, that healthcare has become more like a business of numbers, you will understand why she opened her own practice. She decided she could run a successful practice on her own with a focus on QUALITY care, not QUANTITY. With over 20 years of experience in the field of physical therapy she can treat injuries, ailments, and diagnoses from women’s health to general orthopedics. If you don’t want to feel like just another NUMBER when you seek medical care, you will want to visit a PT in a clinic designed to treat you like a person!
