🧠 Mental Health Care Is More Than a Hospital Bed 🧠
Threshold Clubhouse was recently highlighted in an article examining the state’s mental health system and the ongoing conversation around expanding psychiatric beds.
While some lawmakers are advocating for more beds, many experts-including voices featured in the article-emphasize that this alone won’t meet the full scope of North Carolina’s mental health needs. That’s why this conversation matters-because real recovery happens in the community, through connection, purpose, and ongoing support.
As we head into Clubhouse Action Week (May 4–8), it’s a chance for all of us to be part of that conversation and help advocate for stronger, community-based mental health care.
💬 What can you do during Clubhouse Action Week?
➡️ Follow Clubhouse International and other Clubhouses on social media
➡️ Share our posts to help amplify the message
➡️ Help spread awareness of the Clubhouse Model in your community
We also want to extend a sincere thank you to North Carolina Health News for featuring Threshold and helping bring attention to the importance of community-based mental health care.
