🎉 Happy 30-Year Workiversary, Ali! 🎉

A huge shoutout to our incredible Associate Director, Ali, as she celebrates an amazing 30 years at Threshold!

Last Wednesday, we gathered to honor this milestone alongside several members who have also been with Threshold for 30+ years. It was such a special celebration-full of shared memories, a heartfelt slideshow, and stories that reminded us just how much these remarkable individuals have shaped our community over the decades.

Ali, thank you for your dedication, passion, and leadership. Threshold wouldn’t be the same without you. Here’s to 30 amazing years - and many more to come! 💙

✈️ The Lotus Voyager is on the move again! ✈️

After spending time exploring Threshold Clubhouse in Durham, North Carolina, the Lotus Voyager is continuing its journey and is now headed to Charterhouse Clubhouse all the way in Virginia!

During its stay at Threshold, Lotus joined members working in all of our units and learned what Threshold is all about. From the work-ordered day to getting out in the community for a Saturday SRE adventure, Lotus experienced the teamwork, connection, and purpose that make the Clubhouse Model so special.

A special thank you to Clubhouse Atlanta for sharing the Lotus with us, and another big thank you to The Lotus House for creating this wonderful opportunity that connects Clubhouses and helps us learn from one another.

The journey continues - from Topeka, Kansas at The Lotus House, to Chattanooga, Tennessee at AIM Center, Inc., to Atlanta, Georgia at Clubhouse Atlanta, to Durham, North Carolina at Threshold Clubhouse, and now off to Tappahannock, Virginia at Charterhouse Clubhouse.

Safe travels, Lotus! We can’t wait to see where the journey goes next. 🎉

As staff, being part of the Clubhouse Movement means working alongside members in an environment built on respect, shared responsibility, and meaningful relationships. Every day at Threshold we witness how the Clubhouse Model creates opportunities for growth, purpose, and connection.

As Clubhouse Movement Celebration Week comes to a close, Threshold was honored to take part in this global celebration. We want to thank everyone who participated in this week’s testimonials - including our members, interns, volunteers, and community partners - for helping share the stories and experiences that make our community so special.

We are proud to be connected with Clubhouses across the world that continue to show the impact of this model. We’re also excited to take part in Clubhouse Action Week this May during Mental Health Awareness Month, as we continue raising awareness, advocating, and sharing the work happening here at Threshold.

Clubhouse Movement Celebration Week is all about lifting up member voices, and at Threshold our members are at the heart of everything we do.

Members often describe the Clubhouse as a place where they can find purpose, connection, and the opportunity to grow. Through the work-ordered day, members contribute their skills, support one another, and take part in meaningful work that helps the Clubhouse run each day.

The Clubhouse Model works because members are active participants in building the community together. Their stories remind us that when people are given opportunities, support, and a place where they belong, meaningful growth can happen. ❤

As Clubhouse Movement Celebration Week continues, our current social work interns from UNC and Howard University wanted to share their perspective. Threshold is always honored to host social work interns, and our students play an important role in the daily life of the Clubhouse.

Over the years, our interns have shared that working at Threshold offers a unique experience compared to traditional clinical settings. By working side-by-side with members during the work-ordered day, they are able to see firsthand how meaningful relationships, purpose, and community support recovery.

We are incredibly grateful to our current and past interns, as well as our university partnerships, that allow us to share our stories and continue educating future professionals about the Clubhouse Model. These connections help strengthen our community and carry the values of the Clubhouse Movement forward.

Clubhouse Movement Celebration Week 2026 is still underway, and it’s been great seeing our community join in the celebration!

Yesterday, Threshold welcomed students from the Durham Tech Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Program, and some of them jumped right in to help celebrate and show their support for Threshold. Our partnership with the OTA program has been going strong for several years, with students visiting the Clubhouse as part of their curriculum. Members always enjoy connecting with them and sharing what the Clubhouse Model is all about.

As part of this global week of storytelling and connection across the Clubhouse network, we’re continuing to highlight the voices and experiences that make this movement so impactful. Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to share the Clubhouse Model with future professionals and strengthen the connections that support our community.

✨Threshold is excited to be celebrating Clubhouse Movement Celebration Week this week! ✨

This worldwide week of connection and storytelling, supported by Clubhouse Michigan and Clubhouse International, is a meaningful reminder of what it means to be part of the larger Clubhouse network. It’s a time when Clubhouses across the globe share stories, lift up member voices, and highlight the impact of our work.

All week long, we’ll be sharing testimonials from our members that reflect how the Clubhouse model creates purpose, belonging, and opportunity. We’re proud to stand alongside fellow Clubhouses in showcasing the ways this movement fosters friendship, growth, and hope every single day.

Join us as we celebrate the power of community and the voices that make this work so impactful!

On Saturday, February 7, Threshold staff, interns, and a member proudly participated in the 48th Legislative Breakfast on Mental Health at the Friday Center. This annual event is one we look forward to each year as we stand alongside others to support and advocate for our mental health community.

Events like this create meaningful opportunities for advocacy by bringing together legislators, providers, and community members to discuss policy, funding, and the future of mental health services in North Carolina. This year’s theme was “When Empowerment Meets Resilience in Trauma-Informed Care.” Threshold was honored to serve as a Bronze Sponsor, and our own executive director, is a member of the event’s planning committee. Our team had the opportunity to share information about Threshold with community members and mental health professionals who had never heard of our program, while also reconnecting with longtime supporters.

This past month was filled with meaningful holiday activities, including energetic BINGO games, festive decorating throughout the Clubhouse, shopping outings, shared meals, and SRE holiday movie favorites that brought everyone together. Each activity created meaningful opportunities for connections and embracing the joy of the holiday season together. ❤️

We wrapped up the month with our annual holiday party, where Threshold members and staff, their families, our Board of Directors, and community members gathered to enjoy dancing, gift exchanges, and themed food in a warm, celebratory atmosphere. We are grateful for everyone who helped make this season so special and look forward to all that 2026 will bring.
