Da’ziya Grady, our newest Wellness Team member presented “Prioritizing Protein to Maximize Your Workouts.” Residents are implementing new strategies to feel their best.

From Susan and Don B, “Thank you very much for your excellent presentation about the importance of getting the right amount of protein as we age. We went back to our apartment and started reading nutrition labels and the nutrition information that Dining Services provides us for dinner menus and were very surprised to learn that we are probably only getting around 40 gms of protein a day. We obviously need to up our game 😊. We are going to start today by buying some of the Always Available grilled tofu to supplement our dinner protein. We are also going to switch from the A2 grass-fed yogurt we were buying, which surprisingly only has 6 gms of protein per serving, to low-fat Greek yogurt which has 16 grams of protein (wow!).”

Thank you for joining us on today as the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble (NCYTE — pronounced “insight”) brought Shaping Sounds to life. From jazz classics and historic tap repertoire to bold contemporary works, the performance celebrated the full spectrum of tap’s rich history.

Last night’s program was a truly memorable celebration of music and culture. The 40‑member Rusty Pipes Band filled the room with lively energy as they showcased Music From the British Isles, featuring a rich blend of Irish, Scottish, English, and Welsh selections in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

We were also treated to outstanding guest performances, including the warm baritone of S.T. Kimbrough and the beautiful harmonies of The Harpeggios, our eight‑member harp ensemble that rehearses right here on campus. Their contributions added depth, elegance, and a wonderful sense of community to the evening.
It was a fantastic night of talent, tradition, and shared enjoyment. One that left everyone smiling.
