Beginning in July 2023, Carolina Pain and Performance will transition to an out-of-network care model.
Why?
Recently, several insurance companies have made changes to their medical policies. We have reviewed these changes carefully and have determined that they no longer align with our practice values and care model. Remaining in-network with these insurance plans would prevent us from providing the same level of care with manual therapy and rehabilitation services that our patients rely on. According to comparative practice data from Health Network Solutions, our current care model is 45% more cost-effective than other chiropractic providers in the Carolinas. Our mission is to provide efficient patient-centered care. For this reason, we have chosen to leave all insurance networks, except for Medicare, to shift the focus back to the patient and provide a patient-centered care model without the insurance companies influencing and dictating treatment.
What does this mean for me?
If you have Medicare Part B, then not much will change for you; however, some supplemental coverage may be affected. For all other patients with insurance coverage, we will no longer be a participating provider accepting assignment. Instead, we will provide you with a super bill so you can take advantage of any out-of-network benefits your plan may offer, and your carrier will reimburse you directly.
How will I be charged going forward?
Patients will be charged a flat rate fee for the visit with options to extend the visit up to 60 minutes at a discounted rate.
We appreciate and value your continued support. Please reach out with any questions.
