It’s not too late to contribute to the 1 Million Steps 4 OCD Walk I’m doing this Saturday, June 10th, in Durham.

As a psychologist, I get the opportunity to work with people every day who are dealing with OCD and related issues. I see the toll on their lives and am honored to be a part of their journey to greater wellness. And I’m honored to be one of the founding officers of OCD North Carolina, our local Affiliate of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF).

When you contribute to the 1 Million Steps 4 OCD Walk, you are helping raise awareness, hope and funds to support programs of the IOCDF and OCD NC, including community education, training clinicians in effective treatments, and connecting people with support groups and treatment providers in their local area. I look forward to a beautiful day for the walk on Saturday and hope you’ll consider sponsoring me. Together, we can help those impacted by OCD!

Each day in my office, I get to witness the courage it takes for people to confront OCD and related conditions. I am pained by the toll OCD has taken on their lives. I am humbled by their resiliency and strength. I am joyful as they take each step to reclaim their lives. So, I am participating in th...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/06/hoarder-signs_n_3867423.html

Hoarding is a serious issue that goes far beyond being disorganized. It's estimated that between 2 and 5 percent of the U.S. population exhibits some hoarding behavior, though some figures vary (one estimate puts the number of people with a full-blown hoarding disorder in the United States at 4 mill...
