Congrats to the winner of the contest in the United States, Roy!

Roy, an 8-year-old boy from Florida, invented swimming goggles equipped with AI speech recognition that can translate words underwater.

As a bilateral cochlear implant user, Roy was inspired by his swimming classes, where he often struggles to hear his swimming coach.

What a great invention for CI users, especially those who love to swim! Congrats again, Roy!

To honor Day, we are celebrating MED-EL co-founder and CEO Dr. Ingeborg Hochmair.

Through her research, Dr. Hochmair led the development of the world’s first microelectronic multi-channel cochlear implant.

Earlier this month, Dr. Hochmair and her husband, Erwin, were honored with the 2026 Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering.

Thank you, Dr. Ingeborg for paving the way to bring those closer to natural hearing! 💪
