Carolina Outreach ACT leaders Nathan Brunson and Molly Davis were on hand today for Anna Stein, First Lady of North Carolina's announcement about FACT - a new program to help people with severe mental illness released from detention. With support from NC Department of Health and Human Services' Kelly Crosbie, CO is proud to be part of this pilot program. FACT - Forensic Assertive Community Treatment Team - will deploy teams across the state to provide individualized assistance to people after they are released from jail or prison. This can include mental health care, housing support, vocational/educational support, substance use disorder care, day-to-day living support, and referrals to other professional support services as required. The goal is to create safer communities by reducing the likelihood the recipients will return to jail or prison. Learn more: https://ow.ly/MeJZ50Xm5hq
