Understanding behavior changes everything.

Behavior isn’t random—it’s communication. Whether it looks like talking, walking away, or something more challenging, every behavior is telling us something about a person’s needs, feelings, or environment.

When we shift from asking “How do we stop this?” to “What is this communicating?”—we’re able to support more effectively, compassionately, and intentionally.

This is the foundation of everything we do 💙

As part of our “Creating Understanding” series, we’re highlighting AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication)—but what is it, and why does it matter?

AAC gives individuals a way to express their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings beyond spoken words—whether through devices, pictures, gestures, or sign.

It isn’t a last resort, and it doesn’t replace speech—it supports and expands communication.

Because at the end of the day, being able to communicate—and be understood—matters.

Communication is a right — not a privilege!

In keeping up with our recognition of Autism Awareness and Acceptance, we’re excited to introduce a brief new series focused on creating understanding. 💡

Over the next week or two, we’ll be sharing a few simple, meaningful breakdowns of topics we see every day—like stimming, sensory needs, communication, and behavior.

Our goal is to shift the focus from “fixing” to understanding—because when we understand the “why,” we can support in ways that are more effective, respectful, and meaningful.

First up: stimming! ⬇️

Happy Administrative Professionals Day! 💐

We wanted to take a moment to celebrate three members of our admin team who keep so much running smoothly behind the scenes across our clinics:

✨ Keeping our organization aligned and compliant—supporting onboarding, training and supervision requirements, managing clearances, and ensuring we can continue providing quality care…

✨ Supporting all four clinics wherever help is needed—stepping in both clinically and administratively, collaborating with teams with such positive, warm energy, while also bringing valuable expertise as a Licensed Behavior Specialist…

✨ Managing phone calls and serving as the first point of contact for families—overseeing our waitlist and intake process while ensuring everything is coordinated, organized, and moving forward seamlessly with incredible attention to detail…

The work that Connie, Sarah, and Laura do every single day as our Compliance Officer, Administrative Director, and Administrative Assistant touches every part of what we do.

You three are truly such an important part of our foundation—supporting our staff, our systems, and the families we serve each and every day. You truly deserve to be recognized.

We are so grateful for you three! Thank you! 💝

Autism awareness is just the starting point—acceptance is what truly makes a difference.

Acceptance means creating spaces where individuals feel understood, supported, and valued exactly as they are. It’s not about changing someone—it’s about changing how we show up.

We asked some of our team what autism acceptance looks like to them, and their words speak to the heart of what this work is all about. 💙

Pause and reflect—what does acceptance look like in your everyday interactions? And how can you take one small step today to create a more inclusive space for someone else?

Recognition matters—and so do the people behind the work! 💙

We’re so grateful for every team member who has been recognized—past and present—for the impact they make each day.

While we’ve always celebrated our Employees of the Month privately within our clinics, we’re excited to begin sharing these well-deserved recognitions with you all here as well.

Congratulations to this past month’s recipients! These team members represent the compassion, dedication, and heart that drive everything we do.

Help us give them the recognition they deserve! 🎉

Our clients were honored by the Gregory Center's Pittston staff, as they acknowledged Autism Awareness and Acceptance month together.

✨Happy Autism Acceptance Month✨

For us, acceptance isn’t about changing someone or measuring progress—it’s about creating space where people feel like they truly belong. Because they do.

Belonging looks like being understood — even without words, having the freedom to do things in your own way, feeling safe enough to express yourself, and knowing that you don’t have to earn your place.

This work isn’t just about what we teach—it’s about what we learn, too.

Our clients teach us to slow down. To listen differently. To notice the small things that are actually big things. To see the world through a new lens.

And because of that, we’re better—more patient, more understanding, and more aware of what really matters.

Acceptance also means how we show up beyond our clinics— supporting advocacy, promoting true inclusion, and helping others better understand and respect neurodiversity in all spaces so that we foster communities where individuals are understood, respected, valued, and proud of who they are.

This month (and every month), we’re proud to celebrate the individuals and families who trust us to be part of their lives. 💙
