New World Doula Services New World Doula Services is a doula agency that provides compassionate and professional support to the mother and partner before, during and after birth.

Our doulas serve the South Shore, Boston, Cape Cod and South Coast areas of Massachusetts. Jocelyn Albertson’s desire to empower birthing women and passion for all things to do with birth has led her to be a highly recommended doula in her area. She strongly believes in the transformative power of birth and in a person’s innate ability to birth her baby in the way that feels right. She believes it is important to support and honor the choices a mother makes as well as act as a resource and provide the information she needs to make informed choices about her care. Jocelyn has been a certified birth doula through DONA International since 2013. She is certified in childbirth education with Lamaze International and with ProDoula in postpartum doula care. She is also a certified Postpartum Placenta Specialist. Jocelyn has extensive knowledge and expertise in the areas of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding. New World Doula services is a full-spectrum doula agency. Our doulas offer birth and postpartum doula services, childbirth education and placenta encapsulation in the client's home.

Day 3 of is all about how doulas make a difference in labor and birth. Studies show that when birthing people have the support of a doula, they have more positive birth experiences. Here are a few things that birth doulas do: 💜Doulas help birthing people & their partner(s) to prepare for and achieve the birth experience of their choice.
💜Doulas stay with the birthing person throughout labor. They deeply understand the physiology of labor and birth and can provide physical support and comfort measures (seen in this photo with the double hip squeeze!)
💜Doulas serve as an objective point of view and evidence based information during decision making both before and during labor.
💜Doulas help promote communication between the birthing person and their care team.
