Today is ECF MATCH DAY!

And I am excited to report that on these three friends raised $1535 in roughly 36 hours during their ride from Montauk to Manhattan! It only took 16 friends to donate to raise that amount! That does include one giving an incentive, but the 15 combined out gave the one. This will be taken to ECF today for Match Days 🩷.

This is what I am hoping will continue to happen though today! Please share the link in the comments and help us grow our fund.

Last month - October- the Pink Gravel Fund gave out two grants to individuals that were diagnosed with breast cancer this past summer. I personally am working on another now. The stories of these individuals strike a cord with me and rekindle my own emotions as a breast cancer survivor.

ECF MATCH DAY IS COMING!

Your donations to the Pink Gravel Fund are used exclusively toward the grants Jon and I give to breast cancer patients and survivors working to get back to the groove of this thing called life. That may be in the form of a guilt free dinner out with their support crew - aka family and friends - or it may be in the form of getting a nagging bill paid - or maybe, just maybe they have just rang that bell from their last treatment and want to register for the event in June as a goal to get back to being active ;) The Pink Gravel Fund grant is available for all of these examples and more.

This is something I would have personally applied for if it had existed in 2020. After being diagnosed in October of 2019, completing chemo and radiation treatments in 2020, I would have applied for this grant with no hesitations! The hardest part would have been whether to use it toward something that my family could benefit from as well or to bring comfort to myself. Pink Gravel supports grassroots gravel bike races by sponsoring SAG stops, water oasis, checkpoints or specific ride categories. Through these activities Pink Gravel promotes the Pink Gravel Fund that offers grants to breast cancer patients in Kansas.

For those that ordered from the Pink Gravel Primal store link back during Gravel Worlds EXPO for a Jersey or the new tank design, you should have received it by now.

If you have not:
1. Look to see if you have received an email about it being shipped out for tracking #.
2. If you don't find one, look for your emailed receipt and confirmation of the order for the estimated shipping date.
2.a. If you did not get a confirmation or can'tfind that, I would look for the payment transaction on the statement for the method you used to confirm you were charged for the order
2.b. With that info in hand, contact Primal to see if they have shipped your order and verify the shipping address. You may ask for a copy of the confirmation email.
3. If you have problems, send me your email confirmation of order and payment, and I will use my contact to find out what is going on.

For those that ordered thru me, I will get yours mailed out to you this week. 😀

Days are flying by! Last weekend we hosted our 7th JUST A CHILL RIDE-50K (Lucky #7) in Dwight. What a great day!

Thanks to those that attended. Thanks to all that donated a litte extra towards meal and snack expenses. The rest then is sent to the PINK GRAVEL FUND.

Special thanks to my last minute volunteers and on-site helpers: Tricia, Stephano, Deb, my Mom (LoJean) and my little brother (Austin(. Could not do this without your help!

Congrats to my husband, Jon, who had a break this year from sweeping to ride his bike. A first taste of gravel and longest ride since his double knee replacement last December.

We look forward to seeing you all next year for JUST A CHILL RIDE-50K ( #8 is Grrr-eat!).

A slightly modified route from years ago - ok, just 3. Had to keep us between 30-35 miles :) Pink Gravel doesn't tell you it's 35 miles but you show up and it's 47. We all know a race director or two like that *wink wink*
