Tiffany brings consistency, kindness, and excellence to every shift. Her positive attitude brightens the kitchen, her teamwork lifts those around her, and her cooking has genuinely elevated the dining experience for our residents.

Honoring Our Veterans at The Arc at Dwight

The Activities Department and Uplift Hospice, with special guests Andrea Boggs and Samuel Ramos, hosted a heartfelt celebration to honor our veterans here at The Arc at Dwight.

Uplifted Hospice led a pinning ceremony and a touching “Welcome Home” tribute for our Vietnam veterans. Guests enjoyed the patriotic songs of each military branch and a moving sing-along led by Andrea. Samuel, the son of our Activity Director, performed “Taps” on his trombone to honor and remember all the veterans we have lost here and abroad.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our honored veterans:

Science Class is Back in Session at The Arc at Dwight!

You’re never too old to learn new things, and that’s exactly what happened here at The Arc! Our Activity staff turned the day into a hands-on science class, and our residents absolutely loved it.

From creating lava lamps and erupting volcanoes to a clever pepper, water, and soap experiment showing the importance of handwashing, everyone had a blast exploring science in action!

To wrap up class, each resident made their own batch of cloud dough, complete with their favorite scent and color of glitter. Such a fun, creative, and educational day!

Lunch Outing to the Old Log Cabin!

The Activities Department took a group of residents on a fun lunch trip to the Old Log Cabin in Pontiac! The food was delicious, the service was wonderful, and everyone enjoyed the chance to revisit one of their favorite local hangouts.

National Food Day Fun!

We love celebrating fun and unusual holidays — especially when they involve food!

In honor of National Food Day, our Activities Department served up a delicious and educational “Food Tasting Around the World” during Bingo today!

Residents sampled a variety of international bites, including:
Miso Soup from Japan
Beef Tamales from Mexico
Apples & Honey on the Comb from Israel
Kolache Cookies from Eastern Europe
Fontina Val d’Aosta Cheese from the Italian Alps
Salt & Vinegar Pringles from the U.S.
Some dishes were bigger hits than others, but everyone had a blast sampling the globe and learning a bit about international flavors!

Here at The Arc at Dwight, we hosted our annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest — open to all residents and staff! The creativity this year was incredible!

A huge thank-you to Timothy Smith, our amazing bus driver, who graciously donates pumpkins every year for this fun tradition. We truly appreciate your generosity and support!

🎶 Music, Dessert, and Smiles at Arc at Dwight! 🍰🎵

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of enjoying music from one of our favorite performers, Mick Porter! His visit happened to fall on National Dessert Day, so Liz from Activities rolled up her sleeves and baked up a delicious treat for everyone.

Our dessert bar featured Pumpkin Dump Cake, Fresh Apple Crisp, and Chocolate Fudge Brownies — all warm from the oven and topped with fluffy whipped cream.

It was the perfect Tuesday afternoon filled with music, laughter, and sweet treats!

🍿 How Do You Snackle?

Everyone loves snacks — so here at Arc at Dwight, our Activities Team set up a “Design Your Own Snackle Box” bar to end Dietary Services Week on a high note!

With so many sweet, salty, crunchy, and tasty options like mini club crackers, salami, cheese, grapes, nuts, cookies, gummy bears, and Bugles, everyone — staff and residents alike — got to create the perfect snack box just for them.

This was such a hit, we’ll definitely be bringing the Snackle Bar back again soon!

🎶 Special Guests for Bingo!

We had a wonderful surprise during Bingo this week at Arc at Dwight! Pastor Matt Payne from Dwight’s First Baptist Church and his family joined us for an afternoon of fun and fellowship.

Pastor Matt and his kids usually visit on Wednesdays to share a devotional message and songs, but this time they joined in on Bingo—and the kids even took turns calling out the numbers!

Thank you, Pastor Matt and family, for bringing joy, laughter, and love to our residents. You’re welcome back anytime!
