Our residents have been working together on a small garden project, planting flowers and vegetables that we'll watch grow throughout the season. It was a deliciously messy day at Arc at Dwight! Our "Golden Gourmets" gathered yesterday in anticipation of National Banana Day, and they did not disappoint. With the help of our amazing activities team and a wonderfully generous family member, 20 residents rolled up their sleeves and baked their very own personal size loaves of banana bread from scratch. The kitchen smelled absolutely heavenly and the excitement to taste those golden creations is real! Baking together, laughing together, and making memories together.

Meet Michelle W., LPN! Michelle normally works the night shift, but if you are lucky enough to catch her during the day, you will quickly see why she is so loved around here. She is hardworking, warm hearted, and truly cares for our residents with everything she has.

Her nomination says it all: "Always a team player! The best tidy upper we have!"

🐦 Spring is in the air at Arc at Dwight! 🌸

Now that spring is here and the birds are all about it, our Activities Department hosted "Crafty Crafters" — and this time, residents built and painted their very own wooden birdhouses!

Some went bold with bright colors, and some kept it au naturel — but every single one is a masterpiece! We are pretty sure any bird would be lucky to call one of these beauties home.

Huge shoutout to our residents for bringing their creativity and good humor to every project. You never cease to amaze us!

We pack the house every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and sometimes Saturdays at 2:30 PM — and it is easy to see why! Our residents bring their A-game, their lucky daubers, and their competitive spirits for an afternoon filled with fun, laughs, and the best prize cart around!

The Arc at Dwight welcomed back a resident favorite this week — the one and only Mr. Mick Porter of Momence!

Our residents sang and danced along to classic hits from Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Neil Diamond, and more. The room was full, the energy was electric, and the smiles said it all.

It’s always a great day when we can fill it with music, friends, and fun.

It's 5 o'clock somewhere, and that somewhere is The Arc at Dwight.

In honor of National Cocktail Day, we pulled out all the stops. Sangria, strawberry daiquiris, and the incredible sounds of The Fedoras made for an afternoon our residents will not soon forget.

Good music, good drinks, and even better company. Moments like this are a reminder that joy has no age limit, and this community knows how to celebrate in style.

Easter Egg Scramble Success at Arcadia Care at Dwight!

Our annual Easter Egg Scramble was a huge success! Kids came out in droves, filling their baskets with eggs while enjoying fresh popcorn and lemonade along the way.

Several lucky children discovered special prize tickets hidden inside their eggs, leading them to our prize table filled with cuddly stuffies, coloring books, monster trucks, bracelets, dolls, and more!

We were also thrilled to have a special visit from the Easter Bunny, who hopped around spreading smiles and posing for photos with the kids.

Thank you to everyone in the community who came out to celebrate Easter with our residents. Events like this truly bring generations together and make our community so special.

Our team deserves to be celebrated, and we make sure they know it.

Every month, we take time to show appreciation for the incredible staff here at The Arc at Dwight. Their dedication, compassion, and hard work make all the difference, and we never want that to go unnoticed.

This month, we treated our team to a special lunch featuring subs, Portillo's famous house salad, and chocolate cake. It was a small way of saying thank you for everything they pour into our residents and this community every single day.

To our amazing staff, we are so grateful for you. Thank you for being such a great team.

"I yam what I yam" and apparently, we're all spinach fans now.

Thursday was National Spinach Day, and our residents at The Arc at Dwight celebrated in the best way possible, with classic Popeye cartoons and a green smoothie challenge.

The color was a little suspicious. The taste? Surprisingly delicious. Banana, strawberry, pineapple, and orange made for a smoothie that had more than a few skeptics becoming believers.

Because good health doesn't have to be boring, it just has to be fun.
