Vaccines are one of the most important ways we protect your child’s health — and our approach is simple. šŸ’™

At Kids First Pediatrics, we follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommended immunization schedule and strongly recommend routine childhood vaccinations. This schedule is carefully reviewed and supported by leading medical experts and organizations across the country.

Vaccines help protect children against 18 serious diseases and play a key role in keeping not only your child healthy, but our entire community safe.

We know parents may have questions — and we welcome them. Our providers are always happy to have open, respectful conversations at your child’s visit.

Happy Lunar New Year from all of us at Kids First Pediatrics! 🧧✨

Today marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year, a celebration observed by many families around the world. The holiday begins with the first new moon of the lunar calendar and is a time to honor family, welcome good fortune, and look ahead with hope for the year to come.

In many cultures, celebrations may include family gatherings, special meals, traditions passed down through generations, and festivities that can last up to 15 days. In 2026, we welcome the Year of the Horse — a symbol of energy, strength, and perseverance. šŸŽ

We are grateful for the diverse families we serve and are honored to celebrate alongside you. Wishing all who celebrate a joyful, healthy, and prosperous New Year! ā¤ļø

A new review by the Vaccine Integrity Project of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy confirms that there is no benefit of delaying the hepatitis B vaccine birth dose. The report also shows significant reduction in infections for those vaccinated.

Researchers state that recent changes to U.S. vaccine policies were not supported by any analysis on the possible risks of delaying hepatitis B vaccination. Decades of evidence have shown the hepatitis B vaccine is critical for helping to protect children from developing chronic hepatitis B.

Black History Month: Learning & Growing With Children šŸ–¤

Black History Month is a time to honor the achievements and contributions of Black individuals and to help children learn about history, diversity, and respect in age-appropriate ways. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) encourages families to talk with children about inclusion, kindness, and understanding. Reading stories, exploring activities, and having open conversations can help support children’s emotional development and empathy.

Observing Black History Month with kids doesn’t have to be complicated, small moments of learning and curiosity can make a meaningful impact. This month reminds us that supporting children’s growth means nurturing not only their physical health, but also their understanding of the world around them—inside and outside the exam room.

Little hearts do big work every single day ā¤ļø
February is National Heart Month, and it’s the perfect time to remember that heart health starts early—even in childhood.

Healthy hearts aren’t built overnight. They grow through everyday moments like active play, balanced meals, enough sleep, and regular checkups. From running around the living room to choosing colorful fruits and veggies, small habits can make a big difference for growing bodies.

As pediatricians, we focus on supporting heart health through preventive care—monitoring growth, checking blood pressure when appropriate, and helping families build routines that support lifelong wellness. And the good news? Heart-healthy choices don’t have to be complicated or perfect. They just need to be consistent.

This month (and all year long), let’s show our kids’ hearts a little extra love—by moving more, fueling their bodies well, and keeping up with routine visits. Because when we care for their hearts now, we’re helping set them up for a healthier future šŸ’•

Black History Month: Health Equity in Pediatrics šŸ–¤

Black History Month is a time to reflect on how we can support healthier outcomes for every child and family we serve.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recognizes that systemic racism and social inequities, not race itself, can impact children’s health, development, and access to care.

At Kids First Pediatrics, we are committed to compassionate, equitable care; listening to families; supporting prevention and early intervention; and creating a welcoming space where all families feel respected and supported.

Promoting children’s health means more than medical care, it also means advocating for fairness, understanding, and opportunity inside and outside the exam room.

We’re honored to care for a diverse community and to partner with families in raising healthy, thriving kids.
