Kathy came to our Bellevue clinic with Achilles tendonitis, ready to get back to doing what she loves. With guidance from her physical therapist, Zach, and a commitment to her physical therapy and walking program, she made amazing progress!

This past weekend, Kathy completed the Cooper River Bridge Run 10K in Charleston! 🏅🌉

This weekend, we hosted a COMT tract continuing education course, Becoming a Multi-Modal Manual Physical Therapist with David Sheer. The course challenged us to look beyond traditional manual therapy.

We explored how pain science, brain science, psychology, and nutrition shape our patients’ experiences. Understanding how these factors affect tissues helps our clinicians deliver more personalized and effective care.

Our newest Orthopedic Residency cohort is officially underway! 👏

This weekend, our orthopedic residents completed Lower Quarter 1 (Foot, Ankle, and Knee), led by Amanda Cronin in collaboration with The Jackson Clinics - Physical Therapy. We're thrilled to welcome five new residents to our Orthopedic Residency Program across Middle and West Tennessee. We can't wait to see their growth as they continue through the residency program!

Heart of a Champion! 🏆

Some moments are bigger than the scoreboard. After undergoing four knee surgeries and countless hours of physical therapy, Sissy has made incredible progress and continues to push forward with unwavering determination. Our Pulaski clinic has had the privilege of working with Sissy throughout her recovery journey, witnessing her resilience, toughness, selflessness, and heart, and celebrating every milestone along the way.

Even when returning to the court wasn’t in the cards, Sissy never stopped showing up for her Lady Richland Raider Basketball teammates on their way to winning the Class 1 State Championship! She remained the kind of teammate every program needs: supportive, positive, and committed to something bigger than herself.

Championships aren’t won on talent alone. They’re built on character, sacrifice, loyalty, and the willingness to keep fighting for the people beside you. Sissy embodies all of that because being a champion isn’t defined by minutes played, but by the impact you make along the way! 💪

Matt serves as the Athletic Trainer for Dyersburg High School. He has been with STAR Physical Therapy for 16 years. You can see Matt on any field, court, sideline and dugout for the Black and Gold! Always there to help our Trojan athletes and cheer them on along the way!!!

We’re proud to highlight Mason Kelley, ATC, LAT, for National Athletic Training Month! 👏

Mason serves as the Athletic Trainer for Ripley High School and also provides patient care at our Dyersburg clinic. He is a graduate of Union University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Mason is passionate about helping athletes and patients achieve their goals every day.

When he’s not working, you can find Mason hunting, fishing, golfing, or playing music. He’s been playing the guitar since he was just 5 years old! 🎸

A special thank you to the wonderful community judges who volunteered their time to help with the final round of our Dynamic Handshake Contest on Friday. Our students had the opportunity to practice real-world professional skills while being evaluated by community leaders.

Parker is joining our clinic as a Tech, and we’re excited to have him on board. He graduated from Union University with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and also works as a programmer as an independent contractor.

Parker shared that he’s looking forward to meeting everyone and learning more about STAR, and we’re glad he’s here!

Outside of work, he enjoys playing sports, watching movies, and playing video games, and he’s recently started getting into hunting and fishing as well.

Fun fact about Parker: he’s colorblind!

At STAR Physical Therapy, it is truly a privilege to serve Dyersburg Trojan Athletics and the Dyersburg community. Through our athletic trainer, we get a front-row seat to the dedication, grit, and heart these young athletes bring every single day.
