Tina Butler, 60, of Ridgely, died Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Born July 8, 1965, she is the daughter of the late Shirley Fowler, Holly and William George Butler. She was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church.

She is survived by her companion of 30 years, Bob Cairns; daughters, Sarah Butler (Bradley Brown) of Newbern, Samantha McBride (Michael Hammock) of Big Sandy; her son Stephen Butler (Brittany Miller) ; her lifetime best friend, Lisa Tatum of Arkansas; one sister Sandra Crawford of Tiptonville; two brothers, James Butler (Kim) of Ridgely, William Butler II (Allie) of Dyersburg; seven grandchildren, Brooke Stewart, Stephany Butler, Lisa Stout, Emily Reynolds, Kenslee Butler, Kaleb Butler, Levi Hammock; one great-granddaughter and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Kevin McBride.

John Anderson Brayton, 76, of Memphis, formerly of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Methodist University Hospital after a short illness. Born October 11, 1949, he was preceded in death by his parents, Kitty Bright Tipton Brayton and Lee O. Brayton, Jr.

John graduated from Rhodes [Southwestern] College and received his Master’s degree from Boston University. He was a pianist, a genealogist and a published author. John was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Graveside funeral services will be Friday, March 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Adam Peeler at Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his sister, Kathy Brayton and husband, Tom Schwartz of Dyersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lee “Bub” O. Brayton, III.

The family requests memorials be directed to the Memphis Public Library System or the First Presbyterian Church of Dyersburg.

James Buck McCorkle, 72, of Halls, died Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at his residence. Born November 8, 1953, he is the son of the late Woodrow and Lois Walton McCorkle. He retired as a welder. In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman at the Mississippi River.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda McCorkle; two daughters, Christina McCorkle, Rachel McCorkle, both of Halls; one son, John F.W. McCorkle of Halls; three sisters, Carol Mentz of Jacksonville, FL, Virginia Bailey (Wesley) of Winter Haven, FL, Linda Belton of Ripley; five grandchildren, Kyleah Epps, Jaslyn Epps, Jason McCorkle, Kaitlyn McCorkle, Kylar McCorkle; and one great-granddaughter, Jupiter Epps.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Riley.

Celebration of Life Services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026 at his residence, 313 Chambers Creek Road, Halls, TN.
