Thanks to Children’s Minnesota for doing this work that *literally* saves lives as much as some of the other physical medicine work they do. And I do not say that lightly.

I am SO excited to announce that Jack is starting with our practice this week. He sees clients ages 12 and up.

He specializes on working with folks struggling with disordered eating patterns, negative self talk, self harm, suicidal ideation, and symptoms of post traumatic stress. As a transgender and autistic therapist, he says he loves to work with clients looking to explore and process gender, sexual orientation, and neurodivergence. He has training and lots of experience with DBT among other modalities.

We are super excited to have him join our team. He is going to be such an asset to our community. He'll be telehealth for the next several weeks as he moves to Minnesota from Missouri, but then he'll be in-person as well.

Prospective clients can reach out to Jack directly to schedule a consult call and/or intake session. Jack bills under me (Kai Gunty) and is in-network with BCBS, HealthPartners, Cigna, and (starting August 1st) UCare.

One of our new amazing clinicians, Ruby, currently has openings for clients. She specializes in working with q***r and trans adults as well as parents of q***r and trans kids. She also specializes in all things surrounding pregnancy.

She brings significant social justice and disability justice lenses to her practice and is just a wonderful human being. She is seeing clients fully via telehealth, and she is in-network with BCBS, HealthPartners, and Cigna.

If you are looking for a therapist, reach out to her today to schedule a consult to see if she would be a good fit for you!

My name is Ruby (she/her) and I am a licensed graduate social worker. I am passionate about supporting adult clients (18+) in building lives more aligned with their true selves and desires.

Our new Occupational Therapist is going to be offering this amazing group parent education opportunity in July! She will be teaching parents all about sensory processing - how sensory systems work, how to spot difficulties, and how to best support your child and their development.

The group will run virtually for four Thursdays in July from 12:30-2pm and will cost $200 per family. Contact Tina with questions or to sign up! (tina@pediatricplayhouseot.com)

Exciting news! We are adding an OT and a Speech Therapist to the team June 1st!

This also coincides with another HUGE announcement - we are opening a SECOND location in New Hope (169 and Bass Lake Road) on June 1st. Tina and Sarah will be based primarily out of that location, though they will have some time in Eagan, and Sarah will do some in-home services as well.

They are both AMAZING providers, and I highly recommend them (obviously, or I wouldn't be bringing them onto our team 😉)!

You can contact Tina (OT) through her website at www.pediatricplayhouseot.com and you can contact Sarah (Speech) through her website at www.northstarspeechtherapy.com

I'm so excited to have them join us! Reach out to them (or me) with any questions!

Dandelion Spirit Psychotherapy is running a support group for trans boys, 8 weeks, May 4th - June 22nd, Thursdays 6pm-7:30pm in the north part of Eagan.

The group will be run by the amazing Brooke Thingvold (they/them, https://www.dandelionspiritpsych.com/brooke ). Participants will need to have short a meet-and-greet with Brooke prior to starting the group.

Cost will be $400, with payment plans available. This can't be billed to insurance since it's a support group, but people can use HSA/FSA cards if they have that option and choose to do so.

I don't know that I've ever been so excited about a book series.

These books are all about consent from a bunch of different angles (and there's one more I'm waiting on because it's in reprint - We are in Charge of our Bodies).

They do a fantastic job explaining the complex and nuanced concepts at a developmentally appropriate level for kids 2 and up.

And the representation of characters is like none I've ever seen.

I strongly encourage anyone who has kids in their lives to check out the "We Say What's Okay" picture book series. They aren't just for kids - there's a ton adults can learn from them too!

I was able to order mine through Wild Rumpus Books for Young Readers and get them all really quickly!

I always love changing up the books in the waiting room. This round feels like a particularly good selection!

I made the mistake of going into a store with a “fidget island” yesterday.

But they are one of my best tools to draw kids (and adults) in and help them stay regulated AND they were reasonably priced, so I’ll call it a win!

Please vote.

But please think before you vote. Think of the real, actual lives that are impacted by your decision. Think about the fact that 86% of trans youth have thought about su***de and 42% have attempted. Think about the fact that coming from affirming environments almost completely wipes away that risk - trans youth in affirming environments have no greater risk of su***de than their cisgender peers.

Places where adults are prohibited from putting pronouns in email signatures are not affirming. Places where there’s a narrative that says we are doing ge***al surgery on five-year-olds are not affirming. Places that prohibit parents from accessing gender-affirming medical care are not affirming. Places where schools prohibit any type of representation of LGBTQ+ people in the classroom are not affirming. Places that threaten parents who are doing everything they can to support the well-being of their trans kids with child abuse charges are not affirming.

There are real people with real lives that can be taken away because of who you vote for.

Please make that decision intentionally. Make the decision that keeps kids alive.

I am not overstating. I am not being hyperbolic. This is reality.
