For Halloween, the Lexington Pointe community hosted a Trick-or-Treating event for students from All Seasons Preschool. The kids dressed in costumes and, along with their parents and siblings, went to all four floors of our building to receive treats from residents.

Mac and Nancy played music, and many of the residents dressed up in costumes as well. We had a great turnout, and this event was so much fun for everyone!

The Eagan Men’s Chorus recently visited our Lexington Pointe community to share their musical talents with residents and staff. They were amazing. Some highlights from their performance were “Sweet Georgia Brown,” fight songs from all four military branches, “America the Beautiful,” and “Amazing Grace.”

Back in October, our Lexington Pointe community hosted a Halloween Happy Hour event. We ate cheese and chili dip, pumpkin pie, apples and caramel, and candy corn (of course!). We had so many residents dressed up this year, which was so nice to see.

Thank you to volunteers Leah and Lauren as well as Resident Director Emily for all the help.

Few things warm the body and comfort the soul like a bowl of soup. With so many varieties, there are virtually countless ways to enjoy soup. And because it’s also nutritious, soup is an ideal meal option. For seniors in particular, soup provides a host of benefits:

• Helps maintain hydration
• Provides a range of nutrients, including vitamins, antioxidants, fiber, and minerals
• Easy to prepare and reheat
• Some ingredients, like carrots and onions, support immunity

Celebrate National Soup Month with a warm bowl of goodness and reap all the benefits soup has to offer. Leave us a comment and tell us your favorite kind of soup.

Some of our Garden Cove residents at Lexington Pointe took a Fall Leaf Tour. We drove around the areas of Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Rosemount, and Apple Valley to look at the pretty fall colors. We also visited Valleywood Golf Course, Lebanon Hills Regional Park, and Rich Valley Park.

Our Lexington Pointe Garden Club had another successful season and wrapped up with a Garden Club Clean-Up Day.

Thank you to all our Garden Club members for maintaining beautiful gardens all season long. They partnered in teams of two for routine weeding and watering of our eight garden boxes. We had a variety of flowers and herbs as well as tomatoes, strawberries, and green peppers.

Not all members were present for the Clean-Up Day, but some of the members who were responsible for assisting with planting and clean-up were Jerry & Marie S., Keith O., Sandy S., Darlene V., and Rosemary G.

Our Lexington Pointe community hosted a Chosen Threads Fall Fashion Show, with some of our very own residents volunteering to model these fantastic ensembles! Take a look at some of the fashions we had on display, as modeled by Jane H., Dianne B., Terri O., Susan G., Roxy B., Nancy G., Mary L., and Mary Jane A.

Thank you to all the models—and to Mary L. for rounding them up. Everyone did a super job!

Some of our Lexington Pointe residents recently went on a lunch outing to La Cucaracha Mexican Restaurante in St. Paul. The food and the company were wonderful! Olé!

• Chef Vince as a beekeeper with his honeybees and Glenda as his queen bee (notice the crown)
• Resident Director Emily K.; RN Jackie J., HUC Heather P., LPN Kelly D., Activities Director Jen Z.; and Assistant Resident Director Lia L. dressed up as superheroes
• Preschool students dressed as mermaids, firemen, witches, princesses, and superheroes
