Shame feeds off 3 things: secrecy, silence & judgment. Shame cannot survive being spoken out loud and being met with empathy. When I heard Brené Brown's Ted Talks on shame and vulnerability for the first time in March of 2012, I knew I would never be the same.

With every honest word and compassionate response, I began to eradicate the shame that literally ruled my life for decades. Honesty and vulnerability (in safe, kind places) became the path to my emotional healing, my healing work, creating safe relationships and becoming a safe person. It was so hard and so worth it.

If I can do it, I promise you I know you can too. 💛
