Congratulations to Dr. Micev on being named a Center of Excellence by Sonex Health and The Institute of Advanced Ultrasound Guided Procedures!

Quickly returning patients to their lives by providing the most advanced treatments has been the mission driving Dr. Micev’s work at the Hand Center of Nevada in Las Vegas. That goal led him to explore more minimally invasive treatment options for carpal tunnel release (CTR) and trigger finger release (TFR).

Dr. Micev says “It's a monumental paradigm shift in terms of healthcare and treating patients.” The techniques’ potential to eliminate the need for preoperative testing, and transition procedures from hospitals or surgery centers into the office setting has made a huge impact on patient care.

Ultrasound (US) isn’t just for diagnostics—it’s a powerful tool for procedural planning and patient safety.

This article highlights how US can reliably identify the thenar motor branch and its anatomic variations, including transligamentous branches and ulnar origins. These are structures that, if missed, can increase risk during carpal tunnel release.

A great example of how integrating US into clinical practice can enhance precision, reduce complication risk, and ultimately improve patient care.

Our Story

Committed to Producing Technology that Advances and Improves Healthcare

“Refined simplicity” is the guiding principle behind Sonex Health, to drive efforts and innovations that result in elegant, effective solutions to some of the healthcare system’s most pressing needs.

Mayo Clinic physicians Darryl Barnes, MD and Jay Smith, MD and business operations expert Aaron Keenan founded Sonex Health in 2014. The three were brought together by a shared desire to create safe, effective means of treating common orthopedic conditions that would improve patient safety while decreasing procedural costs. Sonex Health, LLC has developed the SX-One MicroKnife® to treat carpal tunnel syndrome in a novel fashion, termed Micro-invasive Carpal Tunnel Release. This innovation allows carpal tunnel release, a procedure that once took place in an operating room, to be safely and effectively performed in a surgery center or office setting, resulting in rapid patient recovery, improved cosmesis, and reduced costs.

Sonex Health brings together a well-respected and experienced team of individuals who have played key roles in creating, developing, and marketing medical technologies that have positively impacted the lives of millions of patients. This team is committed to bringing their proven talent to Sonex Health, LLC, to successfully and expeditiously produce and market the new SX-One MicroKnife®.
