Team pride was on full display at the beginning of this week as staff across Monarch wore in their favorite NFL jerseys, tees, and team colors to get ready for the Super Bowl this Sunday.

Residents joined in on the fun, too — from a football toss at The Waterview Shores to Super Bowl–style snacks at The Estates at Fridley and Crystal Seasons Living Center, which included treats like crockpot chili, meatballs, and popcorn.

It was a great reminder that community, connection, and a little friendly rivalry make Mondays (and game days) even better! Who's ready for Sunday!? (WE ARE!) 📣📣📣

In honor of Black History Month, we would like to highlight one of the many black leaders who laid the groundwork for more equitable care.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐜𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐫, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔.𝐒., devoted her career to caring for formerly enslaved people who had little access to medical support. Her work emphasized compassion, dignity, and community-centered care—values that remain essential in long-term and senior care today.

At our annual holiday party on January 8th, we recognized four Monarch facilities for excellence across seven performance measures:

Each facility proudly accepted their trophy during the celebration, and this year’s Facility of the Year—Sleepy Eye Rehabilitation and Assisted Living—took home the Monarch Championship Belt from last year’s holder, Green Prairie Rehabilitation and Assisted Living.

Congratulations to these incredible teams and thank you for the dedication you show your residents and each other every day.

Our teams turned up the volume for by channeling their inner rockstars—breaking out band tees, bold style, and plenty of air guitar along the way. The energy was high, the creativity was on full display, and the smiles said it all.

Moments like these remind us that while the work we do is serious, bringing joy, personality, and fun into the workplace makes our teams even stronger. Thank you to our rockstar employees for showing up every day and giving it their all—on and off the stage.

We often spotlight Monarch Scholars who are currently enrolled in school—balancing coursework while continuing to care for our residents. Rosa Cuzko is a great example of another important part of the Monarch Education Assistance Program: supporting employees after they’ve completed their degree through student loan reimbursement.

Rosa is a Registered Nurse at The Estates at Chateau and has been part of the Monarch team for three years. She completed her nursing program at Herzing University, driven by her compassionate nature and a desire to build a career centered on caring for others.

After completing her program, Rosa applied for—and received—student loan reimbursement through the Monarch Education Assistance Program, helping ease the financial burden of her education while continuing her professional journey with Monarch.
