The first Plant Walk of the season is 2 weeks from today!

I have one plant walk scheduled each month from May through September 🌱 I'm always happy to consider adding others if requested!

❔️What is a Plant Walk?

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ A plant walk is a slow meandering walk where we stop often to look at, identify, and discuss the edibility and/or medicine of the plants we come across.

It is a time of curiosity, learning, sharing, and asking questions. And don't be surprised if you finish a plant walk feeling inspired by nature and the plants, curiosity and interest piqued.

Plant walks have a way of transforming the "green landscape" into plants with names - plants that provide us with food and medicine. This transforms your relationship with every plant and green space you encounter - over time and in the most beautiful way.

Herbs in the Garden & Yard is tomorrow evening! 🌱

🌿You'll learn about some of the weedy and willing plants as well as some of the herbs we can add to our yards/gardens/potted gardens.

🌼You'll learn the benefits of working with each (food and/or medicine) and of course identification/ease of growing.

The day Thistle Patch Wellness was 'born', I had no idea it was also Herbalist Day.

Coincidence, I think not 💜

Starting my own practice has both been the source of my greatest joy while simulatenously being a significant source of great growth and stretching. I would have it no other way.

Getting to introduce those in my community (you!) to the plants through plant walks, workshops, and consultations is such a joy.

Partnering with and supporting folks along their healing journey through working with herbs and dietary/lifestyle modifications is one of my favorite things. Being able to witness someone transform -no matter in big or small ways- is a great gift.

My life has been touched by so many.

🌱Every person who has helped in shaping me.

🌸Every mentor and teacher who has shared their wisdom, knowledge, and guidance.

☀️Every plant I've grown in relationship with.

🌿Every curious soul who joined me on a plant walk and/or participated in a class or workshop I've offered.

🌼Every single incredible person who chose me to work along side them in their health journey through herbal consultations.

I am so blessed and so grateful 💜

"Nettle Season" Has Arrived!!
(At least it is here for many or almost here for all.)

I certainly know I'll be harvesting tender nettle tops to add to meals and to make into pesto 😄

The generosity of the plants seizes to amaze me.

Together we take a look at many of the wild growing ("weeds") of our yards and green spaces as well as the easy to grow yet incredible invaluable medicinal herbs we can grow in our gardens.

Medicine can literally be at our feet and right outside our doors - it may be partly perspective, partly awareness, and partly a small amount of effort.. or some of each.

A week ago- last Thursday- I had the opportunity to speak with five incredible women about the Menstrual Cycle.

The ladies in attendance sought understanding around living with their cycle.. tending to their cycle during childbearing years.. discussing the perimenopause transition.. and even one came in part to learn more so that she could better support her own daughters 💕

There were 'whoa' moments.. 'light bulb' moments.. and moments of feeling heard, understood, and seen.

Space was held, information was shared, and laughs were had.

The menstrual cycle is complex yet we as women can learn the rhythms of our bodies and glean the wisdom carried within each of us.

There is much empowerment within the understanding and within leaning into our own personal rhythm.

What a gift to gather with women to explore our rhythms together.. to educate and guide, of course, but also to share and to listen.

Much gratitude to all the women who came and participated in our gathering last week 💜

I suspect and sense there is more to come in regard to me creating offerings centered around the cycles women experince. Like all good things, they will emerge in perfect time.
