Join us in welcoming Ashley, our inpatient rehab case manager at Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center.

Ashley has been a registered nurse since 2023 and brings valuable experience from her time as an OR nurse, supporting complex neurology, spine and orthopedic cases. With a strong foundation in direct patient care, she now looks forward to guiding patients through the next phase of their journey, ensuring they feel supported and prepared as they transition out of the hospital.

Ashley says she loves her new role, appreciates the support of a strong team and has found the transition smooth and rewarding.

Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center has officially broken ground on its new behavioral health unit, marking a major milestone in the expansion of mental healthcare services for the Eagle Pass region.

Located at 3333 North Foster Maldonado Boulevard, Eagle Pass, TX 78852, the new unit will feature 18 inpatient beds and behavioral health treatment and services for adults and older adult (65+) patients, providing compassionate, specialized care in a secure and supportive environment. The new unit reflects the hospital's continued efforts to enhance access to care for patients in need of inpatient treatment.

“Breaking ground on this new Behavioral Health Unit is an important step in expanding the level of care we provide to our patients,” said Eladio Montalvo, CEO of Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center. “At Fort Duncan, we truly believe care is our calling, and this milestone allows us to extend more comprehensive services to our community. We look forward to supporting our community in their mental health journey and remain committed to emphasizing the importance of mental health as a vital component of overall well-being.”

Construction is now underway, and updates will be shared as the project progresses.

Brenda Woodcock, vice president and chief nursing officer for the Acute Care Division, visited the facility to meet with Chief Nursing Officer Norma and the hospital’s nursing directors.

The visit offered an opportunity to strengthen collaboration, exchange insights, and reaffirm the hospital’s commitment to delivering high‑quality patient care across all departments.
