We are excited as we move closer to opening to introduce our amazing leadership that will help us bring a new level of care to children in Eagle River.
✨ Meet Our Administrator – Heather ✨
Heather is the Administrator of Playful Learning Academy and a true Alaskan at heart. Born in Alaska and raised in Eagle River, she brings a deep love for community, families, and the outdoors into everything she does.
With over 30 years of experience supporting children and families, Heather holds two degrees in Human Services, is certified in the Reggio Emilia Approach, and is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner. Her work is rooted in whole-child, trauma-informed care that supports both children and parents. In 2025, she was honored with the Threads Lifetime Achievement Award for her dedication to Alaska’s children.
Heather is a proud mom of two and grandmother of six, and she is a strong advocate for children, families, and educators alike—committed to creating spaces where children feel safe, valued, and supported, and where educators feel respected and empowered.
When she’s not at the Academy, you’ll likely find Heather four-wheeling in the Alaskan wilderness, spending time with family, or adventuring with her small pack of dogs 🐾
