It is with a heavy heart we learned today that this beloved tree came down in a storm in San Diego in front of our Chinese TCM medical school formerly known as Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (now called Pacific Health and Science). The Burrises love for one another grew under this tree for years. They rested, ate lunch, caught brief glances and even snatched quick kisses from one another under its boughs. The roots were the backrest of their breaks from 12 hours a day, 6 days a week of relentless study for years. Goodbye to a treasure. Thank you for giving us shade and breathing life into our love.
