A Neuroaffirming Approach to Mental Health

My clinical approach integrates neuroscience, psychology, and lived experience to support autistic individuals in a way that respects neurodiversity while also addressing real-life challenges. I incorporate strategies from:
Polyvagal-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Executive Functioning Coaching
Mind-Body Regulation Strategies
Strength-Based and Neuroaffirming Counseling

Rather than trying to “fix” autistic traits, therapy focuses on helping clients better understand their nervous systems, build confidence, develop coping strategies, and create lives that align with their strengths and values.

Support for Parents and Families
In addition to working directly with autistic individuals, I also support parents and caregivers who are navigating the complexities of raising autistic adolescents and adults.

Parent sessions often focus on:
Communication strategies
Emotional regulation for both parent and child
Executive functioning support at home
Healthy boundaries and family dynamics
Preparing for adulthood and independence

As a mother of two adult sons on the autism spectrum, I understand both the professional and personal sides of this journey.

🎉🌟STAFF SPOTLIGHT🎉🌟 Andrew Stoudenmire, LMFTA

I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who enjoys working with individuals, teens, and couples as they navigate relationships, transitions, and the everyday challenges of life. I have a special interest in working with autistic and other neurodivergent people, and my own experience with ADHD helps me better understand the strengths and challenges that come with neurodiversity.

My goal in therapy is to create a space where people feel safe being themselves; without pressure to mask or fit someone else’s expectations. I approach therapy with curiosity, patience, and respect for each person’s way of thinking and experiencing the world.
