I just learned an old friend has been lost to su***de, Jennifer Hall. I had not spoken to her in years, but we remained Facebook friends and I enjoyed seeing her posts. It reminds me I need to do a better job staying in touch with people.
I knew Jennifer from SIUE and it has been years since we spoke, but I have such positive memories of her.
Depression is a cruel disease and su***de never makes sense to those left behind. I am so sorry to hear the world lost such a special soul, but I hope her friends and family will use her experience to go on to help others rather than blaming themselves. It is never anyone's fault. Enjoy every day with the people you care about, you never know if it could be the last. She lived her life helping others and if her memory can live on to make a difference for someone else, I know that would matter to her. If anyone needs to talk please reach out to someone.
I am here personally if anyone needs to talk. I was one of the lucky ones to survive a su***de attempt and learn to manage my mental health, so I understand the struggle.
