✨ Y12SR Update ✨

I wanted to share that I’ll be closing out Y12SR classes at the end of this year. This community has meant so much to me, and I’m truly grateful for everyone who has shown up, shared vulnerably, and practiced alongside me. Holding space with all of you has been an honor.

In the new year, I’ll be focusing on TCTSY (Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga) and facilitating at one of Caz Recovery’s residential treatment programs—work that feels deeply aligned with my commitment to supporting trauma survivors and folks in early recovery.

If you’d like to join before we wrap up, there are two final Y12SR classes in December: 12/9 and 12/23.

Please join us for another round of Y12SR meetings, restarting tomorrow (Tues) night! Y12SR blends the ancient wisdom of yoga with the practical tools of 12 Step programs to support embodied healing. Y12SR is open to anyone working to overcome addiction or impacted by the addictive behavior of others. No yoga experience necessary. Meetings are donation based ($10 suggested or pay what you can). Just finished listening to Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Emily & Amelia Nagoski and I can't stop talking about it! Stress on our bodies literally takes years off of our lives. We need to deal with the stress so that we can better handle the stressors. Our body has its own language; it's not enough to distract or tell ourselves "I'll feel better when....". We need to support our bodies in completing the stress cycle so that we can flow in and out of our stress response effectively. The authors talk about the many ways we can support our bodies and nervous systems in doing this, but physical activity/movement is the #1 most effective. Other ways include a good cry or laugh, a creative outlet, physical affection from a loved one, diaphragmatic breathing, and/or a positive social interaction.
