Please join us for another round of Y12SR meetings, restarting tomorrow (Tues) night! Y12SR blends the ancient wisdom of yoga with the practical tools of 12 Step programs to support embodied healing. Y12SR is open to anyone working to overcome addiction or impacted by the addictive behavior of others. No yoga experience necessary. Meetings are donation based ($10 suggested or pay what you can). All proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora. Feel free to reach out with any questions. See you on the mat!

Just finished listening to Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Emily & Amelia Nagoski and I can't stop talking about it! Stress on our bodies literally takes years off of our lives. We need to deal with the stress so that we can better handle the stressors. Our body has its own language; it's not enough to distract or tell ourselves "I'll feel better when....". We need to support our bodies in completing the stress cycle so that we can flow in and out of our stress response effectively. The authors talk about the many ways we can support our bodies and nervous systems in doing this, but physical activity/movement is the #1 most effective. Other ways include a good cry or laugh, a creative outlet, physical affection from a loved one, diaphragmatic breathing, and/or a positive social interaction.
