Meet our newest therapist CARL BENTLEY, LPCA, LCADC

I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
from the University of the Cumberlands (2023) and became a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) in February 2024. My journey into the counseling profession was inspired by my personal experience in overcoming addiction and guided by my faith, which instilled in me a deep sense of purpose to help others find healing and hope.

My clinical focus is in substance use treatment, though my foundation encompasses supporting youth and the broader community in addressing both mental health and addiction-related challenges. I earned my Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) credential in the summer of 2025, followed by my supervision designation in November 2025. Additionally, I completed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training through the EMDR Institute in 2025 to expand my trauma-informed care approach.

Over the past two years, I have dedicated myself to working as a mental health and substance use clinician, finding immense fulfillment in helping individuals and groups reach meaningful change. My therapeutic style is person-centered, collaborative, and grounded in empathy. I strive to create a nonjudgmental, supportive environment where clients can gain deeper self-understanding and develop the tools necessary for lasting recovery and personal growth.

I am passionate about continuing my professional development and furthering my ability to help others heal emotionally, mentally, and spiritually through the knowledge, skills, and compassion I continue to cultivate in this field.

Our provider Farid Asayesh will be temporarily unavailable on 11/14 and 11/15.

He will be in the woods in a tree stand practicing patience and trying to convince the deer to cooperate.

However, you can still call the office and leave a message. Messages will be checked periodically throughout each day. ☎️🗨️ If you see Carl he will be there for your scheduled time.

‼️Now offering EMDR!!!‼️
Ever heard of EMDR therapy? 💭
It’s a powerful way to help your brain heal from trauma, anxiety, or painful memories. Through gentle eye movements or tapping, EMDR helps “unstick” those tough experiences and reprocess them in a healthy way.
Healing is possible and EMDR can be a big part of that journey. If you would like to inquire more about EMDR give us a call to schedule an appointment.

⏰ Gentle Reminder

We understand that life happens schedules change, and unexpected things come up. However, because of the nature of mental health care, it’s important that we use our time to help as many clients as possible.

If you are unable to make your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice so we can offer that time to someone else in need.

Please note that after three missed appointments or cancellations without 24-hour notice, we may not be able to continue scheduling future visits.

We appreciate your understanding and commitment to your care and to the time and wellbeing of others. 💙

Halloween reminder from Healing Minds Psychiatry 🧡🖤🧡🖤
Sometimes people “ghost” their meds because they feel better or forget, but mental health treatment works best with consistency.
If you’re thinking about stopping your medication, talk to your provider first!
We’re here to support you....no tricks, just care. 🎃
If you have concerns or side effects don't disappear like a 👻.

We came across a post on social media recently that really resonated with us. It reminded us how important patience and grace are, especially in mental health care. We've been truly blessed with the best patients who show such grace. 🙌
Sometimes a few extra minutes of waiting before your appointment could mean your provider is sitting with someone who just shared that they don’t want to live anymore… or listening to a story so painful it changed someone's life forever.
In mental health, we don’t rush people through pain. We give them space, compassion, and time and we promise to do the same for you when you need it most.
Sometimes, life changing moments are unfolding behind those doors and we’re simply being human where it matters most. 💙⏳

💚 Mental Illness Awareness Week October 5–11 💚

This week, we join the national movement to raise awareness, fight stigma, and remind everyone that mental health is health.

1 in 5 adults experience a mental illness each year and only about 40% seek help.

At Healing Minds Psychiatry, we believe that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether it’s therapy, medication management, or simply starting the conversation, every step toward healing matters.

Let’s work together to break the silence, support one another, and build a community of hope and understanding. 💚

Medication management can be a great option for many people. It can help ease symptoms and bring balance, but it’s important to remember, there’s no “magic pill” that takes everything away.

That’s why therapy is such an important piece of the puzzle. 💬
Therapy helps you work through challenges, build coping skills, and create lasting change that medication alone can’t always provide.

The best care often comes from combining both medication for support, and therapy for growth.

💊🧠 Medication management and therapy aren’t in competition. One isn’t “better” than the other. Each has its own strengths, but when they’re combined, that’s when the real progress happens.
