It’s an overdue review. I came across Hope by web search. When I walked for the first time, the environment made me feel comfortable at once. There are 2 single rooms, so privacy is well-protected. Dr. Zhao helped me with my anxiety symptoms and pelvic pain. Before going to Hope, I had been having menstrual pain and after-period pelvic pain for years. It was bad enough that it interfered with my quality of life. At the peak, I took around 10 Advil/Tylenol within a month, there were several days that I could not function because of the pain intensity. I visited two OB/GYNs – one dismissed my concern but referred me to a psychiatrist for anti-depressant medication, the other suggested birth control pills. I decided to give acupuncture a try. For almost a year, at each visit, Dr. Zhao took time to diagnose by listening to my conditions and examining my physical symptoms in her caring and attentive manner. She then adjusted her treatment methods accordingly. In addition to acupuncture, Dr. Zhao also shared with me tips for stress management and wisdom on parenting. I have stopped the treatments since last summer. Nowadays I only need up to 3 Advil during a month with pain in significantly reduced intensity. I am grateful for Dr. Zhao’s help.

Dr. Zhao is a great doctor. She uses both acupuncture needles and suction cups so effectively that her treatment is more effective than physical therapy. TLDR: Dr. Zhao changed my life! I cannot thank her enough.

After a lifetime of struggling with chronic GI and skin problems, Dr. Zhao set me on the road to healing within the first visit. Over the last 10 years, I have been to several practitioners including university dermatologists, cancer treatment facilities, and other holistic professionals, but no one else has offered the same care or results as her.

At every visit, Dr. Zhao always took extensive notes on my history and performed electroacupuncture and occasional cupping, resulting in immediate relief. She also recommended diet and lifestyle changes that treated the underlying causes of my recurring symptoms. While my condition has improved dramatically under her care, her medical advice has equipped me with the wisdom and tools to take care of myself and maintain lifelong health in mind, body, and spirit.

Needless to say, the facility was very clean and everyone was always kind, professional, and accommodating.

Dr. Sun is very thorough and helped me both physically and emotionally. Dr. Sun has to be about the nicest practitioner I have ever met. By my third visit I felt like I was with a trusted friend. Sometimes these symptoms can be really annoying, even to keep us indoors. For other people, after years of seasonal allergy, it can develop into an allergy all year around. In 2017, American College of Physicians issued guidelines for treating low back pain. It says “For patients with chronic low back pain, ACP recommends that physicians and patients initially select non-drug therapy with exercise, multidisciplinary rehabilitation, acupuncture, mindfulness-based stress reduction, tai chi, yoga, motor control exercise (MCE), progressive relaxation, … or spinal manipulation.”
Only after the non-drug therapies have been tried and not successful, pain meds are to be prescribed. Because these pain meds are associated with “substantial harms, including the risk of addiction or accidental overdose.”
