Newborns have very little vitamin K in their bodies at birth, and they need it to help their blood form clotting. Without it, babies are over 80 times more likely to get a serious bleeding condition than those who do get the shot, called vitamin K deficiency. If you are expecting and have any questions ask us!

Please take care as wind chill temperatures get frigid. Babies lose heat more quickly than adults, putting them at a higher risk of frostbite and hypothermia. Avoid playing outside in temperatures or wind chills below -15° Fahrenheit. At these temperatures, exposed skin begins to freeze within minutes. Stay warm everyone!

Regular family meals can boost kids’ healthy eating habits, support language development, and strengthen family connections. But screens can quickly distract from that shared time. Family dinners are a great time to try switching off the TV and leaving phones in another room while you eat. Even a few screen-free dinners each week can make a meaningful difference!
