RETURN TO SPORT TESTING‼️
force plate testing gives us access to over 200 metrics across 20+ different movements to assess athletic performance and gives us insight on potential injury risk such as side to side differences during jumping and landing tasks.

Many clinics do not objectively test strength and that is just the tip of the iceberg for our return-to-sport testing battery. Andrew is 3 months postop R ACLR QT graft with meniscus repair, this is his third ACLR, second on the right after a failed BEAR procedure.

Andrew has been putting in a ton of work in therapy and it shows with his progress. Despite having a quad tendon graft which historically struggles immensely with regaining quad strength, he was able to achieve >2.3 TTBW and 75% LSI at this 3 month mark. He’s currently squatting and TBDL his body weight for reps, to treat athletes it’s necessary to have the means to appropriately load. Too many clinics advertise “sports rehab” without understanding the basic mechanisms that underpin strength, power, agility. Sports rehab isn’t sexy or flashy, it’s methodical and strategically planned with respect to tissue healing.

This drill focuses on dual tasking, balancing on an unstable surface while reacting to unpredictable throws.

The goal is to train neuromotor control under reactive demand. After an ACL injury, the nervous system has to relearn how to process visual and proprioceptive input at the same time.

Each throw challenges coordination, timing, and stability, helping the body learn how to adjust rather than just perform in controlled settings.

Say hello to Dr. Christine Martirez, who is founding the long-awaited pelvic floor therapy program at our East Brunswick location, now booking appointments!

Dr. Christine is a dedicated Orthopedic & Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist with a passion for helping patients achieve optimal health and wellness. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Seton Hall University, followed by a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Rutgers University. Before transitioning into physical therapy, she was a competitive powerlifter, which deepened her fascination with anatomy, physiology, and the mechanics of the human body. This experience sparked her commitment to understanding the complexities of physical rehabilitation.

With a comprehensive background in orthopedics, Dr. Christine has experience treating a wide range of patients dealing with conditions such as neck pain, lower back pain, post-operative rehabilitation, concussion management, and stroke recovery. Her extensive experience in orthopedics merges with her pelvic health knowledge, which has allowed her to integrate whole-body treatment approaches tailored to each individual’s unique needs.

She works with both female and male patients experiencing pelvic floor dysfunctions, such as incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti (abdominal separation), and pelvic pain. Her goal is to empower patients by restoring strength, mobility, and confidence in their bodies. By addressing the root cause of pain and dysfunction, Dr. Christine aims to help patients live healthier, more active lives. She is also a certified
Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist.

Injuries and surgery can take you out of the game and limit your mobility.

At Mana Physical Therapy, we specialize in helping athletes and active individuals return to peak form.

Our current patient is in the mid-stage of ACL reconstruction rehab. She has been with us between 2 and 3 months. Before this, she was not seeing the results she was looking for at the previous clinic.

Soon she will be back doing ju-jitsu and all the activities that she loves unhindered.
