We often hear from people struggling with OCD who feel hopeless because their symptoms involve mental checking and intrusive thoughts rather than visible behaviors like handwashing. The good news is that effective, evidence-based treatments do exist.

It’s important to work with therapists who are specifically trained and experienced in these approaches.

For over 30 years, we’ve been leading experts in the field, helping individuals find relief and training professionals to do the same.

🚗 A day in the life of someone living with a driving phobia isn’t as simple as getting from point A to B.

For many, it’s a daily battle with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and overwhelming fear — often tied to past trauma, OCD, or PTSD.

Every turn of the wheel can feel like an exposure challenge, testing strength and patience.
But healing is possible — through gentle exposure, therapy, and support, the road can become less terrifying and more empowering. 💪

Let’s raise awareness and compassion this — because behind every phobia is a story that deserves understanding.

What OCD Is vs. What OCD Isn’t

There’s a lot of misunderstanding around OCD — it’s not just about being neat or organized. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is a real mental health condition involving distressing intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive actions or rituals (compulsions) to try to relieve anxiety.

💡 OCD isn’t a personality quirk.
💙 OCD is a challenging, treatable condition that deserves understanding and compassion.

Let’s talk about it the right way — with empathy, not stereotypes.

💙 It’s OCD Awareness Week — a time to learn, understand, and show support.

OCD affects about 1 in 40 adults and many children too. Someone you know — a friend, coworker, or even a child — may be struggling quietly.

This week, we’re sharing stories, insights, and resources to help break the stigma and remind everyone that support and treatment can make a real difference.

Let’s keep the conversation going and show a little extra compassion — it matters. 💙

🌿 World Mental Health Day 🌿

Today, we pause to remind ourselves that mental health matters—every day. 💚

Whether it’s taking a walk, talking to a friend, or simply breathing, small steps count. Let’s break the stigma, support each other, and prioritize our well-being.

💬 Tip: Start a conversation. Ask someone, “How are you really doing today?”

🌟 Team Spotlight: Dr. Rob Zambrano, Psy.D. — Clinical Director

Dr. Rob Zambrano, Psy.D., serves as the Clinical Director of Stress and Anxiety Services, leading a team dedicated to helping clients overcome anxiety, stress, and related challenges through compassionate, evidence-based care.

Dr. Zambrano typically works with clients ages 10 and above (with occasional exceptions for Tourette’s cases). He’s passionate about teaching clients to identify and challenge the thoughts and beliefs fueling their anxiety — and helping them discover the courage to face their fears and realize they’re stronger than they imagined.

Known for blending philosophy and humor in an approachable way, Dr. Zambrano uses relatable references — from sports metaphors and song lyrics to podcasts, pop culture, and even sci-fi movies — to help clients understand their treatment and stay motivated. While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is his primary approach, he also integrates techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to create personalized, effective care.

For Dr. Zambrano, therapy is both a science and an art — a meaningful collaboration built on connection, courage, and growth.
