The team at The Healing Tree had an amazing team building event yesterday with our new friends Nicholas, Moony, and Sweet Pea at We learned a lot about ourselves, our team, how to better work together, and how to apply this to our work with our clients. With the impending cutoff of SNAP benefits, The Healing Tree will be collecting food, baby supplies, and period products for donation to the Community Food Bank of NJ and other local organizations helping the hungry, parents, and babies. Drop off during business hours in our waiting room. Miss us? You can leave items outside our door. Prefer to give a cash donation so the food banks can stretch the dollars a bit further? Peace is a component of mental wellness — not an endpoint, but a practice.
In clinical mental health, we understand that moments of calm aren’t incidental; they’re created through intentional habits that support emotional regulation and cognitive balance.

Daily peace can come from:
✔ Practicing grounding techniques in moments of stress
✔ Engaging in mindfulness to reduce rumination
✔ Setting and maintaining healthy interpersonal boundaries
✔ Allowing space for emotional processing without judgment
✔ Prioritizing rest as a necessary part of recovery and resilience

You don’t need to feel “zen” all the time to be mentally well.

Finding small, manageable ways to reduce psychological distress each day is a valid and effective part of long-term mental health care.
