Today, we close the doors of WellStrong.
Nine years ago, WellStrong did not exist. It began as a vision for a place where people in recovery could find peace, comfort, and strength through community, fitness, and wellness. When the doors opened in December 2017, that vision became something real. And from the very beginning, it was clear that WellStrong was more than a space or a set of programs. It was people.
It was the smiles, the laughter, the encouragement.
It was the doors opened for those who were too afraid to walk in anywhere else.
It was the compassion shown to people who had not felt cared for in years.
It was hope, shared freely.
In the early years, there were miles run, funds raised, milestones celebrated. Over time, the community carried it forward. What made WellStrong thrive was never one person. It was all of you. Staff, volunteers, participants, donors, and supporters who showed up day after day and created something meaningful together.
The kindness you showed, the patience you gave, the presence you offered, all of it mattered. You helped build a place where people felt welcomed, understood, and supported. You were part of moments of strength, healing, and transformation for individuals and families across this community. That impact does not disappear today.
It breaks our hearts that WellStrong as we knew it cannot continue. But the spirit of WellStrong, the compassion, connection, and belief in recovery, lives on in the lives that were touched here. Its legacy lives on in each of you. In the way you support one another. In the way you reach out. In the way you choose community, strength, and hope even when things are hard.
While the doors may close, the impact continues wherever you carry it forward.
