It has been a fun week at Eddy Hawthorne Ridge! We celebrated National Popcorn Day with different flavored popcorns, and National Granola Day with delicious homemade granola — delicious treats happily made by our on-site dining team.

We also celebrated Activity Professionals Appreciation Week! Our team (Tina, Cathy & Mary-Jo… and “Stuart Little”) enjoyed donuts, lunch, and some goodies throughout the week. Thank you for keeping our residents and staff entertained with all the fun you bring to our senior living community!

Congratulations to our Spirit Award Winner, Bill Sheridan, who works in our Housekeeping Department! Bill is always willing to go the extra mile for our residents, whether it is joining in to act in one of our play productions, assisting with on-site activities, or even just singing and dancing along to our residents' favorite tunes...you'll always find him with a huge smile on his face. We are so lucky to have him as part of the Eddy Hawthorne Ridge Team!

We're getting festive here at Eddy Hawthorne Ridge with fun holiday games! Staff and residents enjoyed a friendly competition of Snowball Fights and Reindeer Games. Winners for most and least snowballs in the ring and most rings on the reindeer. Check out the fun below!

Did someone say made-to-order omelets and fresh waffles? Our on-site dining team added these delicious new items to our breakfast menu, and our residents in both our Assisted Living and Memory Care Communities gave their 5-Star Rating of approval!

Lights, Camera, Action! Our staff and residents stepped into the spotlight for 'Cactus Juice Saloon,' a play handpicked by the team at Hawthorne Ridge for our residents. After three astounding performances for our Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care Communities, the results are in, and there were standing ovations all around with rumors of a few Tony Award nominations coming our way! 😉 Later this month, we'll be hosting our next play with a unique take on the story of Scrooge...stay tuned!

Today, we were happy to celebrate our amazing resident veterans for their service with a delicious luncheon, taking a moment to present them with a certificate of recognition, a veteran pin, and a star cut from an American flag.

The residents at our Memory Care Community have early to mid-stage dementia, so our staff and their families, and the families of our residents, teamed up to raise money to help support the Alzheimer’s Association! In addition to attending the walk at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy, we also hosted our own walk for our memory care residents so they could participate too. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we raised over $1,000!

At Eddy Hawthorne Ridge, Halloween isn't just for kids...it's also for the young at heart! Our residents have been busy celebrating with a variety of fun activities, including costumes, treats, pumpkin decorating with our Independent Living Residents, and an afternoon of Trunk-or-Treating with our Memory Care Residents. From crafting delicious, nutritious meals to greeting our residents with a friendly smile, we were honored to celebrate our wonderful dining team, who always bring flavor and heart to every table during our Dining Appreciation Week at Eddy Hawthorne Ridge! Fun celebrations were had all around, including a Korean-themed meal catered by Chef Kevin to top off the week. Join us in giving a round of applause and a heartfelt thank you to our team!

A big thank you to the incredible generosity of our residents, staff, and volunteers who helped us donate 11 boxes of canned and boxed goods to Concerns-U in Rensselaer earlier this week! Independent Residents Mary Kane and Millie Allen accompanied our driver, Mark Mayhew, and his wife, Terri, to deliver the donations.
