MATRIX Personalized Fitness Personal training & Yoga studio in East Greenwich RI that incorporates neuroscience to reduce pain, build strength, speed, endurance, and balance.

Your body is unique, and so is our holistic approach to personal training. Because your brain and nervous system control all of your physical movements, we incorporate your nervous system into your exercise plan. It’s an efficient method that blends biomechanics (how your particular body moves), neurology (how your nervous system responds to movement), eastern wellness methods and personal training. We work on finding the proper, targeted exercises that can create long-lasting change in your body as efficiently as possible—whether you want to overcome pain, improve at your favorite activities, or just get in better shape.

Let’s face it—if reaching your goals were easy, you’d already be there. Usually, the things holding us back aren't as insurmountable as they seem, but to overcome them, you have to name them first.

At MATRIX, we look at barriers as detours rather than roadblocks. When you identify a challenge, you have choices: you can remove it, get around it, or reframe it.

Take "lack of time" due to kids' activities as an example. Instead of seeing that as a wall, we can reframe the situation:
🔹 Find ways to be active at the exact same time they are.
🔹 Participate in the activity with them to get your own heart rate up.

Naming your patterns is powerful. Whether the challenge is external, like a busy schedule, or internal, like a habit that's hard to break, recognizing it is the first step toward real change.

Clarity is the missing piece for most people starting a new fitness journey. Without it, you end up spinning your wheels with broad ideas like "get fit" or "eat healthier".

At MATRIX, we find clarity by shifting the focus. Instead of obsessing over OUTCOMES you can't control—like a specific number on the scale—we define the specific ACTIONS you can control.

You are in charge of your habits, not the end result. When you commit to the action, the progress follows naturally.

Instead of a broad goal, try focusing on these "controllables":
✅ Walking for 10 minutes after dinner.
✅ Prepping a healthy lunch for tomorrow.
✅ Drinking one extra glass of water today.

Clear, specific actions act as a roadmap, guiding you through each step and keeping you aligned with the big picture.

Most people start the year looking forward, but the secret to a better 2026 is actually looking back.

When I sit down with a new client at MATRIX, we don't start with a "new you" plan. We start with what we already know.

Think of 2025 as your research phase. Some things worked—small wins where you showed up for yourself or felt a spark of energy. And some things didn’t—moments where the plan didn’t fit your lifestyle, or the motivation just wasn't there.

Reflection isn't about judgment; it’s about clarity. By identifying the "knowns," we can:
- Tweak the specific actions that worked before to fit your new goals.
- Avoid the "known problems" that have tripped you up in the past.
