Coming up on December 10 from Association of Professional Genealogists, a free webinar on the Virtual Treasury of Ireland collection.

Join APG on 10 December 2025 for a FREE webinar featuring experts from the Virtual Treasury of Ireland (VTRI), which is working to virtually reconstruct the records lost in the destruction of the Public Record Office of Ireland in 1922. Presenters Dr. Ciarán Wallace and Dr. Brian Gurrin will discuss archival tragedy, reconstruction, and will demonstrate the many genealogical resources available on the free research platform. APG is pleased to be a supporter of the preservation efforts of the VRTI.

Search more than ten million historical records of people who died in New York State, from 1880 to 2017

As part of our new Connecticut Genealogy News series, “Celebrate Record Custodians!”, we are highlighting the essential work happening at the Connecticut State Library —including that of State Archivist Allen Ramsey.

For more than 15 years, Allen has safeguarded Connecticut’s government records, through his roles as Government Records Archivist, Assistant State Archivist, and now Archivist. Allen oversees over 53,000 cubic feet of archival material.

He also serves as President of the Council of State Archivists, helping lead national standards for archival preservation.
