Safety, Accessibility, and the Invisible Lens
This month, the CT Department of Agriculture awesomely highlighted the "strong correlation" between animal abuse and interpersonal violence. At Healing By Growing™ Farms, we are shining a light on the additional layer that often remains invisible: the crisis of abuse and neglect faced by people with disabilities and those who are homebound.
The data is clear: Persons with disabilities are nearly 4x more likely to be victims of abuse and violent crime than those without. We are meeting at this intersection to ensure no one is left in the shadows. Safety on the farm means safety for every living soul.
