I have been loving making this new recipe (courtesy of some fellow dietitians)! These come together nicely, and taste great. They are perfect to send with my daughter on track meet days for pre-meet fuel or refueling between events! They would also work well between baseball/softball double headers!

These easy, no-bake peanut butter protein balls are a fun, healthy snack with superfood ingredients for kids and adults. Make a big batch and freeze them!

Springtime is a great time for - especially as a new competition season begins! It was awesome to be on site this week with Pewamo-Westphalia Varsity Cross Country/Track and Lansing Community College Baseball

Very different sports with very different nutritional needs but the same overall goal: optimize health and optimize performance.

From talking fueling basics with Pewamo-Westphalia Varsity Cross Country/Track to diving into the world of supplements with Lansing Community College Baseball, it was great attention and great questions from start to finish.

We discussed the importance of fueling well, what happens when an athlete under-fuels, what is in food and how does it fuel athletes, ideal timing of eating and building meals and snacks. After becoming a RD (Registered Dietitian), Coach Kate then completed specialized training and work with athletes to sit for the exam to become a (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics). That was in 2011.

Only a small number of RDs hold this prestigious certification. RD CSSDs are highly sought after at all levels of athletics.

Since 2011, Coach Kate has had to recertify to keep this credential by continuing work with athletes and retaking the exam every 5 years: 2011, 2016, 2021.

Last week marked the 4th time she has taken this test to keep her credential, and she passed to once again recertify as a CSSD!
