Volunteer Opportunity: VOSH-MI Nepal Vision Mission 🌍 – April 2026

The Opticians Association of Michigan is sharing the following opportunity on behalf of VOSH-MI and Dr. Brian C. Hayes, O.D. 👓

VOSH-MI is seeking licensed opticians to participate in a humanitarian vision mission to Nepal, providing essential eye care services to underserved communities. 🌟

Mission Dates: April 12–23, 2026 📅 Location: Nepal (including a four-day trek to Namche Bazaar, near Everest) 🏔️

The team will distribute approximately 3,000 pairs of eyeglasses. Volunteers will assist with prescription matching, frame adjustments, and may support patient registration and basic visual testing. 🏥

Volunteer Need:

Four opticians are specifically requested, though additional volunteers are welcome. 🙌

Cost:

$1,600 per participant, plus airfare to and from Kathmandu

Fee includes lodging, meals, and the guided trek portion of the trip 🍽️

This is a unique opportunity to combine professional service with meaningful global impact. 🌎
