7,000+ contacts with students, families, schools, and community partners across 23 districts and 32 schools, all working together to prevent harm before it happens. Prevention is built on connection.

Through community connections, Prevent 2 Protect is helping schools to protect and support high-risk adolescents in Michigan.

100 referrals

In just 26 months, we have received over 100 referrals of high-risk adolescents. Our Hub of consultation and assessment is working with schools throughout Michigan to prevent targeted violence and keep students safe. Our pioneering project has evaluated over 100 behavioral assessments of targeted violence. Prevent 2 Protect is strengthening safety through early identification and coordinated support. By helping one, we can truly save many.

Prevent 2 Protect in Lincoln Park ⤵️

Serving Lincoln Park Public Schools in Metro Detroit, Regional Case Manager Martine Highet and Mentor Robert Clark are dedicated to proactive prevention and bridging the gap between schools, law enforcement, and medical professionals to support students. The Lincoln Park IST serves all 13 schools within the district.

Through a multi-disciplinary approach, our team is helping to build strong, safer learning environments and give adolescents the chance to thrive.

💚 Our Ingham Region Intensive Support Team

Regional Case Manager Mary Gebara and Mentor Jay Greene make up our Ingham IST, serving seven school districts within Ingham County.

Through strong partnerships with local schools and community agencies, Mary and Jay work to promote connection, prevention, and coordinated support - helping create safer learning environments for students.

⭐ Reintroducing the West Shore ESD Intensive Support Team of Prevent 2 Protect ⭐

Serving Lake, Mason, and Oceana counties, our West Shore IST works with local schools and community partners to strengthen student safety, connection, and well-being.

Regional Case Manager Syriah Dobis and Mentor Noah Petzak cover the largest geographic area of all Prevent 2 Protect's regions. They work tirelessly to support participants and connect them with local resources.

As the year comes to a close, we’re reflecting with gratitude. 💚

Prevent 2 Protect reached numerous milestones this year, including surpassing 100 referrals, hosting over 200 attendees at our 2025 conference, and establishing our fifth region in Genesee County. Thank you to the educators, students, families, and community partners who trusted Prevent 2 Protect and made our communities safer this year. Here’s to continued connection, care, and impact in the year ahead.

This is a milestone!

From East to West and North to South, P2P is making a powerful impact across our state. Since launching our Intensive Support Team services in October 2023, we’ve received over 100 referrals spanning 5 regions, 7 counties, and 35 districts. We’re incredibly proud to support our state in strengthening Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management implementation statewide.

We're honored to have the support of the Michigan Department of Education and the Michigan State University Department of Psychiatry, who have been instrumental in allowing us to support Michigan schools, at-risk youth, and their families.
