With just two weeks left in the internship, our interns are continuing to challenge themselves and step outside their comfort zones to learn new skills. We are proud to see their hard work, growth, and dedication as they make the most of every opportunity during their final weeks.

Today, interns participated in Employment Planning Meetings to review their progress at their internship sites and receive constructive feedback on areas where they can continue to grow.

These meetings are an important opportunity for reflection, goal setting, and celebrating the progress each intern has made. We are proud of the hard work and dedication shown by everyone and look forward to seeing that effort continue throughout the remainder of the internship

As we head into the final four weeks of this internship rotation, our goals are to keep learning new skills, continue demonstrating what it means to be a great employee, and begin exploring future employment opportunities. We are proud of the effort and dedication our interns show each day!

Applicants for the 2026–27 school year joined us for our Skills Day, where they rotated through hands-on stations led by our ISD staff and community partners from Michigan Rehabilitation Services and Michigan State University.

Current interns played an important role in the event by helping run the stations and sharing their experiences with applicants. They were able to talk about what to expect in the program and offer helpful insights from their own journeys.

It was a great opportunity for applicants to learn more about the program while seeing the confidence and leadership our interns have developed. We’re excited for the future and proud of everyone who helped make the day a success!

This month, our interns have been strengthening their listening and communication skills in a creative way — by developing their own “how-to” guides! 📝🎥

Interns wrote step-by-step directions for a variety of tasks and then took it a step further by creating their own how-to videos to teach their classmates new skills. Through this process, they practiced giving clear instructions, thinking through details, and communicating effectively.

To wrap up the month, our instructor and skills trainer are putting those directions to the test — following the interns’ how-to guides exactly as written to see just how well they can teach us something new! 👏

We are so proud of their growth in confidence, clarity, and leadership. Great job, interns!
