Well our weekend did not go as planned and now we are facing some very serious decisions.
While we wait to see if the owner is willing to work with us on repair costs to the house, or is going to continue to refuse us credit for repairs made- we anxiously wait to see what kind of damage this next rain system is going to cause.
We’ve already lost nearly all my teenage sons clothes, our oversized bean bag, two brand new mattresses, and countless other household items (his mini fridge, microwave, dressers, keyboard speakers etc) Not to mention everything I spent on supplies for the petting zoo too.
We’re expected to pay nearly 4k a month AND foot the bill for all repairs with no credit given to asking price. 😵💫😩 on a single income and self employment this is becoming impossible with the compounding damage to the major systems that we’ve been working on since moving in in October (HVAC, SEPTIC, PLUMBING, ELECTRIC IN THE BARN)
If the owner doesn’t suddenly become willing to work with us I’m pretty sure we will be looking for a new farm, unfortunately I now don’t have a financial foothold and will be scraping by untill we find something, or this house collapsed entirely.
I am sharing our fundraiser I made through GiveSendGo, and will post pictures of all the damages so far (just yesterday the basement wall cracked in a couple places, and even more water poured in, even tho it hasnt rained again in days, so I know the damage is just compounding now)
Anything anyone is able to spare would be more than appreciated right now in our time of need, and if you can’t donate, shares prayers and good vibes are VERY needed as we have lots of rain forecasted today, and I don’t even know if we’ll be able to continue staying here. 🫣😩
We also have branded Raising Roots shirts available thanks to Hat Foundry! $20 adult sizes $15 kids sizes
And are offering private family tours this weekend!
Please consider visiting to help us through this tough time!
