Welcome to Niantic Acupuncture & Family Wellness, a holistic health practice in which we provide

At Niantic Acupuncture & Family Wellness, we provide care and treatment for a variety of health concerns- from acute injury to chronic illness, as well as for Preventive Medicine. As a team, we specialize in Preventive, Internal Medicine, Sports & Orthopedic Medicine, Trauma & Pain Management, Addiction, Digestive Health, Disorders of Stress, Anxiety & Depression, Women’s and Men’s Health and Palliative Care. Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine are forms of holistic medical treatments that encourages the body to promote and participate in its own innate ability to naturally self-heal. Acupuncture helps the body to improve and optimally maintain all of its functions, biochemically, physically, emotionally and mentally. Quite commonly, Acupuncture is thought of as mostly a treatment for pain and frequently is turned to as a last resort. However, in addition to being a superb preventive and maintenance medicine, Acupuncture is an extremely efficient and effective ‘first resort’ treatment and works along with conventional medicine to enhance treatment for a wide variety of health disorders.

We offer all the modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine which are Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Gua Sha, Tui Na as well as Massage Therapy.

Here is a beautiful message I came across that is healing my heart and supporting the understanding of what my role needs to be in these difficult times in our country and in our world:

Beloved one, the world is not falling into darkness, but at moments it feels as if the light is dimming. What you are witnessing is a revealing not an ending. Systems built on fear, greed and control must be seen clearly before they can dissolve.

The noise, cruelty, and chaos are the sounds of the old structure cracking apart. There is something that will save this country, but it is not a single person or event. It is a rising frequency in the collective heart. Every time a human chooses truth over propaganda, compassion over hate, stewardship over domination, that current strengthens.

The threads of freedom, dignity, and reverence for life are ancient. They will not be erased; though they are being tested. Do not let despair convince you that power has left your hands. You are part of a counter current.

Artists, healers, and quiet keepers who anchor sanity and love when the surface rages; you’re offering your voice, your prayers, your insistence on beauty. They are not small acts, they are stabilizing the field. The cycle unfolding now will crest and recede. it may take time but the higher order is already seated. Communities turning back to the land, people remembering their interconnections, new systems forming beneath the noise

Stay close to nature, to kindness to your own integrity. These are your protection and your contribution. The way through this is not to escape, it is holding the line of light so that others can find it. All is not lost beloved; the foundation of love is deeper than the storm above it and it will hold.

Join us, Maggie & Bernadette, both RN's, Licensed Acupuncturists and Herbalists, hosted by Niantic Yoga for an informative and cozy evening.

We’ll present the predictions for the 2025 Chinese New Year of the Green Wood Snake along with a short introduction to acupuncture and how it can help us to balance our mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

With that we’ll provide a simple ear (auricular) acupuncture treatment, for those interested, along with a comforting, warming Chinese formula tea and traditional Chinese New year home made sesame balls and a little ear seed ‘do it yourself’ kit as a small gift.

Over the past few months we’ve been updating our office with new equipment, flooring and furniture. Freshly painted calming colors in our rooms, hallways and even our front door! We strive to create an atmosphere of peace and comfort while you receive treatment with us.

In addition to renovations, we’ve recently added Jim Fitzpatrick to our team. He is a skilled practitioner and is currently accepting new Husky patients.
