Natalie Hessell, IBCLC

Natalie Hessell, IBCLC Looking for a Lactation Consultant? I offer in home consultations in the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. Please call 309-631-6035 for more information.

I have had an interest in breastfeeding since becoming a mother in 1998, going on to nurse all 4 of my children. I began to help families in 2001 as a volunteer Leader with La Leche League International, a role I continue to enjoy. I worked for 2 years as Breastfeeding Peer Counselor with the Rock Island County Health Department. Then in 2011 I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant or IBCLC. IBCLCs are allied health professionals specializing in the clinical management of breastfeeding. IBCLCs must have accumulated many clinical hours in breastfeeding counseling, as well as breastfeeding education. We continue this education to further our learning and continue our certification. I have experience working with babies of all ages, and a wide range of breastfeeding issues from milk supply, soreness, latch and positioning, weight gain concerns, twins and tandem feeding, IGT, getting baby back to the breast. I have a special interest and focus on infant oral anatomy and ankyloglossia (tongue ties).

I am still in the IBCLC business! In addition to home visits, did you know you can see me in office? I offer lactation consultations at Cornerstone Family Dentistry in Davenport, Morrison, and Camanche. While we offer frenectomy services, many families come to see me just for lactation services. Seeing me in office can be an affordable option for IBCLC services. I offer weighted feeds, help with supply, fl**ge fittings, oral rehabilitation and much more! Call or message me here, or contact the office to book a visit.
