This is an exciting opportunity to be a Leader for a Community Recovery and Rehabilitation Program Free At Last.
Our community recovery center is dedicated to substance abuse treatment, intervention, and prevention services with a special focus on those affected by incarceration, HIV/AIDS, and intergenerational addiction.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Executive Director will be leading the agency to build financial stability, strengthen external relationships with government funders and with private foundations and donors.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
•First and fore most the heart of lion to come into the situation with strength and fight
•Prior Experience as Executive Director is a must
•Prior experience with strategic leadership - in the business or non-profit sector Experience building financial plans including overseeing budgets
•Prior knowledge of fundraising and the ability to represent community needs to the external funders - including government agencies, foundations & private donors
•Ability to ensure compliance of any agency contract and grants.
•Ability to provide reports as required by contracts and grants.
•Bachelor’s degree required; advance degree preferred
•Knowledge and familiarity with East Palo Alto community and/or other ethnically diverse communities highly desirable.
•Ability to work effectively with clients, staff and people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
•Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
•Excellent oral/written communication skills and strong use of correct English language usage and grammar.
•Ability to complete written documentation accurately and legibly using correct English grammar and before established deadlines.
•Ability to communicate regularly with supervisor, staff, submit reports, take constructive feedback and follow assigned directions.
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as schedules, written internal communications policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals.
•Ability to adhere to program policies and procedures and assigned work schedule.
•Ability to manage alphabetical and numerical computerized and paper files.
•Excellent time management skills.
•Team player with the ability to be flexible
•Strive to develop friendly and positive relationships among staff, clients, volunteers, and the general public.
•Ability to pass and maintain Adult, Infant and Child CPR certification.
•Ability to pass and maintain First AID certification
•Maintain TB clearance every year.
•Valid California Driver’s License and safe record driving.
•Maintain current required auto insurance for assigned transportation duties.
•Strong interest in working with clients in recovery.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
