Here are a few sensory-friendly ideas to make your celebrations shine bright:

Quiet Zones: Create a cozy, calm space away from the hustle and bustle where your child can relax and recharge. Think soft blankets, dim lights, and favorite comforting objects.

Visual Schedules: Help reduce anxiety by using visual schedules to show the day's activities, including any holiday events. Knowing what to expect can make a big difference!

Familiar Comforts: Stick to some familiar routines or incorporate favorite toys, foods, or activities into your holiday plans.

Sensory Play: Explore holiday themes through sensory bins! Think soft "snow" made from cotton balls, scented playdough, or twinkling lights to explore safely.

Communicate & Understand: Remember that every child is unique. Ask them what feels good, what might be overwhelming, and celebrate their preferences!

❤️💛💙 Our hearts are heavy today.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at a nearby college in our community. Our thoughts are with the students, families, faculty, first responders, and all those impacted during this incredibly difficult time.

One of the best gifts of autism is the incredible depth of passion for special interests. This season, we are leaning INTO what they love.

If that means the holiday theme is "Minecraft" instead of "Reindeer," we are here for it! Meeting our kids where their joy lives is the true spirit of the season.
