For almost three decades Mushroom Wisdom, Inc. (MWI) has continuously developed and produced the finest research supported mushroom products. While mushrooms have been used traditionally for thousands of years, Mushroom Wisdom actually began in 1991, as Maitake Products, Inc., with the goal of bringing the health and immune supporting benefits of the, at the time, relatively unknown Maitake mushroom to the U.S. *
The original and only product that was offered was Grifron® Maitake, a simple, straightforward whole Maitake mushroom powder that offered a full range of Maitake’s actions. As researchers further explored this promising mushroom they found it contained a potent, unique beta glucan that was orally effective for supporting healthy immune function.* This became known as D-fraction. Maitake D-Fraction® PRO 4X, the company’s flagship product, is now available in a quick and easy “spray” form. Maitake D-Fraction “EZ” Spray is convenient for “on-the-go” administration.
Further research on the Maitake mushroom led to discoveries related to its promising actions for supporting healthy blood sugar and insulin functions.* As a result of these studies the SX-fraction was born.
After 10 years of being a “one mushroom” company we introduced a line of single mushrooms, all “super” enhanced by high quality mushroom fruiting body and unique mushroom extracts. This “Super” mushroom line includes Agaricus, Chaga, Coriolus, Cordyceps, Lion’s Mane, Meshima, Reishi, Shiitake and Tremella. MWI recently introduced Super Poria, based on their research of this mushroom and unique mushroom extract.
By 2010 the company acknowledged its role as a leader in the mushroom category by changing its name to, Mushroom Wisdom Inc., to better reflect its diversity of products. By embracing the word “wisdom” as part of its new company name, MWI honors the thousands of years of traditional use of these mushrooms, while also emphasizing its industry leading commitment to furthering our knowledge and understanding with scientific research.
