We all have this inner child inside of us that would love nothing more than to spend the day playing, dancing and singing

I think its safe to say we all choreographed at least one dance/ song for our family at some point in our childhood

& im thinking about WHY we did that

It was pure, simple fun. An expression of creativity. Our alpha brain waves are being activated which bring a calm, fulfilled peace within us along for the ride

My spicy opinion? 🌶
The minute you stop playing is the minute you start dying.

You can have the "healthiest" diet in the world but if you suppress that inner child, that deep pleasure of PLAYING, you're going to remain stuck

Not all healing work has to be hard and painful. Remembering is play is healing too!

The more you play, the more FREE you are. In your body, in your soul, in your mind.

Functional nutrition is not only about the food youre putting into your body (although that is a large part). Its about engaging with your health from a HOLISTIC view.

So this is your encouragement to put on some music and pretend you're putting on a concert. Maybe twirl a stick around. Create a dance routine. Its good for you

That "grind harder" mentality? It's making you sick

We're out here running on fumes, skipping meals, crushing HIIT workouts daily, and wondering why we feel like garbage the week before our period.

Here's what nobody's telling you: Your ovulation high isn't meant to last all month. When you try to maintain that same intensity through your luteal phase, you're actively suppressing progesterone - the hormone that's supposed to calm your nervous system and prep your body for either pregnancy or a healthy period.

Youre not getting the transformation you want because nobody taught you how to get the transformation you want.

Listen, I'm all for enjoying life but if you're wondering why you're exhausted and bloated 24/7, get curious as to what you're actually feeding your body.

That venti sugar bomb and pizza aren't giving you ANYTHING your cells can actually use. Zero vitamins. Zero minerals. Zero quality protein. Just sugar and inflammatory oils having a party in your gut.

And honestly, it's not your fault. The amount of sugar in the starbucks drinks is literally insane. If you saw all the sugar in this cup & other chemicals that make you insulin resistant.. you would probably faint.

Your body is STARVING for real nutrients while you're stuffing it with empty calories. It's like putting water in your gas tank and wondering why your car won't run.

2015-2017: So bloated by dinner I'd unbutton my pants in the car. So tired I'd cancel plans just to lie on my couch. Periods so heavy and painful I couldn't stand up. A belly so hard and distended I looked pregnant. Planning my outfits around the fear that I would end up bloated. Confusion & frustration. Fear. What was happening in my body?

2017-2020: The messy middle. The underworld. Deep diving into research at 2am because I couldn't sleep anyway. Going back to school for functional nutrition. Experimenting on myself like a mad scientist. Feeding my gut. Regulating my nervous system. Becoming my own fu***ng detective because nobody else would.

2023-2024: Facing the emotional s**t I'd been stuffing down (literally and figuratively). Cycle syncing
Detoxing my liver. Fasting. Clearing, cleaning, cleansing.

2024: Dancing because I have energy at 9pm. Eating without fear. Waking up without needing 3 hours to feel human. Periods that come and go without ruining my week. Enjoyable, pain free s*x.

The difference? I stopped asking doctors for permission to heal and started listening to what my body was screaming at me.

have you ever gone to a "functional practitioner" who handed you a list of 15 supplements and was basically like "good luck, see you in 3 months"??

because i hear this ALL the time from new clients and honestly it drives me crazy

they come to me exhausted. not just physically exhausted but exhausted from:

- spending hundreds of dollars a month on supplements
- feeling like taking pills is a part time job
not seeing any actual results
- being confused about what they're even taking and why

your body recognizes food. REAL whole food. it knows what to do with an avocado, a sweet potato, some wild caught salmon. but synthetic supplements? your body is like "wait what is this"

don't get me wrong, sometimes supplements have their place. but they should never be the foundation. f
