The Bravest Step Is the Next One

Some Sundays feel like an exhale.

The noise softens, the week loosens its grip, and for a moment you can actually hear yourself think again.

I’ve learned that these are the moments when vision whispers. Not the loud, hustle-kind of vision, but the gentle kind that asks, What do you really want your life to feel like? Not someday. Not when everything is perfect. But now. Vision doesn’t arrive when we’re pushing, it arrives when we’re listening.

Motivation, I’ve found, isn’t about forcing yourself forward.

It’s about remembering why you started in the first place.

It’s the quiet decision to keep choosing yourself even when no one is clapping yet. Even when the road looks longer than you hoped. Especially then.

Because every meaningful life I’ve ever witnessed — including my own — was built in ordinary moments that didn’t look magical at the time, but became sacred because someone stayed the course.

So today, let this be your reminder: you don’t need a grand plan or a perfect version of yourself to move forward.

You just need one honest step taken in the direction of what feels true.

Hold the vision gently.

Trust that what’s meant for you knows how to find you, but it meets you in motion.

And sometimes, simply believing again is the bravest thing you’ll do all week.

With all my love,

Dona Rae

I’ve been thinking about something lately.

Have you ever noticed how Jennifer Aniston always seems… grounded?
Not frantic. Not trying too hard. Not chasing the spotlight.

She has a quiet filter.

She doesn’t say yes to everything.
She doesn’t contort herself to fit roles that don’t fit her anymore.

She knows who she is.

Now contrast that with Jim Carrey (stay with me 😄).

Brilliant. Talented. Hilarious.
But for years, he said yes to everything—until he didn’t.
Until he realized that without an inner compass, even success can feel hollow.

Divorce does something similar to women.

It shakes your sense of self.
Suddenly you’re questioning everything:

• Who am I now?
• What do I want?
• Who gets access to me?
• What actually feels right?

Here’s the truth most women don’t hear:

You don’t need to “figure it all out.”
You need a new internal filter.

Inside Divorcing Gracefully & Beyond, we build that together.

Not through overthinking.
Not through pushing or forcing clarity.

But by helping you come home to one steady, grounding question:

Does this honor the woman I am becoming?

When you have that lens:
• Decisions get lighter
• Boundaries feel natural
• Your nervous system calms
• You stop second-guessing yourself

Over 12 weeks, we rebuild more than confidence—we rebuild self-trust.

This isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about being aligned.

Divorcing Gracefully & Beyond begins January 15.

If you’re ready to stop performing, over-functioning, or doubting yourself…

Consider this your invitation to step into your next chapter—with clarity, confidence, and a little sass.

Three Steps to Trusting Again After Your Heart’s Been Broken 💔➡️💗

Let’s be clear, trusting again isn’t about becoming less guarded. It’s about choosing to become more self-anchored.

1. Rebuild trust with yourself first.
Before you trust another partner, you have to trust your own signals.Your body knows. Your intuition knows.
Practice listening, and believing what you hear without negotiating it away.

2. Stop rushing intimacy. Depth doesn’t require speed.
Safety is built through consistency over time, not chemistry alone. Let someone earn access to your heart through aligned actions.

3. Choose discernment over hyper-vigilance.
Being cautious isn’t the same as being closed.
You’re not here to scan for danger, you’re here to notice how you feel around someone. Calm is a green flag.

Broken hearts don’t need fixing.
They need safety, truth, and time.

And yes, you can trust again. Just not the way you used to. The way you do now is wiser.

Just a little reminder in case you forgot today:

You don’t need to have it all figured out to be exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Healing isn’t linear. Growth isn’t pretty. And confidence doesn’t always feel loud.

Sometimes it looks like getting up anyway… and choosing yourself again.

Give yourself some credit. You’re not “behind.” You're exactly where you're supposed to be.

Divorced women over 50 aren’t asking surface-level questions anymore…

They’re asking the real ones.

Is it too late for love… or am I just scared to hope again?
Who am I now that the marriage is over?

Can I trust myself—and someone else—after everything I survived?

Why do I still feel lonely even though I’ve done the work and built a good life?
And how do I open my heart without settling or getting hurt again?

If these questions live in you…
It doesn’t mean you’re broken.
It means you’re standing at the edge of your next chapter.

And this chapter?
Gets to be about you.

Everyone says, “When the stars align…”

But here’s the truth most people never learn:
The stars don’t align for you.
They align when you decide.

Waiting doesn’t bring clarity.
Waiting keeps your nervous system stuck in limbo.
Confidence fades. Desire dulls. Momentum disappears.

Action is what organizes the universe.
Movement creates momentum.
Clarity comes after the decision…..not before it.

The door to success isn’t hidden or locked.
It’s labeled DECISIVENESS and ACTION.

Dating after divorce can feel hard…
but it also makes you unforgettable.

You’ve lived.
You’ve healed.
You know yourself now.

And the right partner?
He won’t be intimidated by your strength, your success, or your standards.

He’ll be inspired by them.
