For almost 42 years, he's been called a lot of things, including Firefighter, Medic, Captain and Assistant Chief.
This week, he retires from those titles to become full-time Poppy to his grandchildren, which he's been looking forward to.
We've been honored to serve alongside Kevin Bidlingmaier for decades.
Please join us in wishing him a heartfelt HAPPY RETIREMENT as he finishes out this month.

Line up is 4p on West St and the parade starts at 5p.
Everyone is welcome to be in it!

East Sparta Village Residents--

Tomorrow, you will be voting on your fire levy.
It was on your ballot last November and did not pass.
The Village has always had two small fire levies.
Unbeknownst to us at the time last November, one of the levies had expired and was not eligible to be included on a ballot as a "renewal."
So, the “additional levy” that appeared on the ballot then was due to that reason and labeled as such.
We had no part of the levy expiration and only learned of the issue after the levy failure.
This levy—if approved—will produce the same amount of funds as the expired levy. It is a lower millage at current home values.
If this levy does not pass, your fire coverage will still be in place.
But, contracted funds would generate from another fund--and not the Fire Fund.
There was also an article by a local newspaper that incorrectly stated that the passing of that levy last November would have produce $150,000. That number was completely erroneous. This new levy would produce $19,000 annually and would cost homeowners $26 per $100,000 valuation.
We strive to support the entities that we serve and hope you will support this levy.

Stark County Sheriff Weisburn recently attended a Pike Township Trustees meeting.
They discussed the ongoing contract for a dedicated deputy in our district.
This November 4th, a police levy will be on the ballot for Pike Twp residents.
This is a quarter-mil levy and will cost only $9 per $100,000 property values.
In August, our deputy responded to 107 incidents with 84 being in Pike Twp. 
We encourage voters to support this levy.
